Whirl wind, that pretty much sums up our life these days! It has been great fun and exhausting!
On the 19th of July, I started the "Get Active" program at the community center. It is a circuit training type set up which has been a lot of fun. We go 2 times a week and I tell you what, if you ever wondered if you had muscles under your fat rolls, well the answer is YES! After the first night, I could barely walk but have pushed through and am starting to feel better about it all. after 5+ years of doing nothing, it is a bit of a shock to the body, but it is nothing I didn't expect. No pain no gain right! I have signed up for 4 months of this (2 x weekly) and we will see after that. 3 weeks done and I haven't died, so that is bonus!
On July 24th, we went to Alcester for Grandpa Morris's 85th birthday party. It was great to see all the family and hang out. Here are a few pictures of the day.
Benjamin playing some bean bags!
Wayne being Wayne! :-)
The birthday boy himself!
Grandpa Kurt is BUSTED! OPPS.. He got pulled over after pulling an Illinois Roll and Go at the stop sign after running to the store to get zip lock bags! Fortunately Mr. Doty was nice enough to let him off with a warning. Of course we were standing outside when it happened so we had to snap a few pictures for proof! This is him with his brand new Spider man watch and 2 Zhu Zhu pets!! He has wanted a watch for a long time! He can not tell time yet, but if you ask him what time it is, he will rattle something off!
Micah had a dentist appointment on the 27th. He loves going to the "dentist doctor" as he calls it. Once again he had a clean bill of health with no cavities! We are thankful for that! He had a chance to pick a name for the bull dog in their office and I think Craig said he named him "Little Harry" or something like that. Not sure where that came from, but the winning name getter wins a DS and he is bound and determined it will be him! I am not holding my breath but we can let him dream. I am guessing he will forget all about it pretty soon!
Micah found his infant Halloween costume and thought he would try and put it on!
After a successful rummage sale, Saturday night we headed to the races. Matt had a good night racing, he ended up 3rd in the feature. The funny part of the night was when Micah's favorite hobby stock driver, Dusty was black flagged for rough driving. Micah did not understand why on earth Dusty went into the pits and was not coming back! He kept asking question after question. Finally, I looked at Craig and said, "Help me out!" He answer as to why Dusty wasn't racing, "Dusty was naughty and they put him in time out!" Micah completely understood and didn't ask anymore questions. :-)
This week has been a little calmer. I renewed my cell phone and I bit the bullet and got a blackberry. I don't think Craig is to pleased with the monthly fee, but I simply told him to shut it! I don't any "hobbies" to speak of and the techy stuff is the one thing I like. He hasn't said another word. He will like it when I have it with us on a trip and we need to look up something! LOL. In all seriousness, the main reason I got it was for my calender. I need to have one in the same place so that I can keep things straight. I have my work calender, home calender and the one in my purse.. Now I can sync them all and have it in one place.. YIPPI! I also like the email feature. My computer will get much less use I am sure. Fun Fun stuff!
Well, I better wrap up this novel. I hope you all have a great weekend! Tonight I hope to watch the movie, "Valentine's Day"! Tomorrow, we are off to a family reunion and Sunday is a down day!
Oh, I wanted to let you all know as well, I am not going to make my blog private for the time being. I think it is inconvenient for the people that don't have an account to read it so for the time being, I am going to leave it open.. At some later time, I may rethink this but for now it will stay the same. :-)
