Shopping, HO HUM..
Friday night, I went to Sioux Falls to do some clothes shopping for our upcoming trip to Denver. Oh, how I hate the process of clothes shopping. Anytime I have to do something that makes my self-esteem disappear I tend to dread it! It is beyond my expertise to understand how they can get the clothes to look so darn cute on the hangers. If only they could get them to look that cute on a human being instead of a hanger, we would be getting somewhere!! For those of you who don't know me very well, I shop for clothes once every couple of years! I hate it with a passion and every time I have to it reaffirms my distaste for it. I know this is going to sound OLD, but the styles out there are awful. All the clingy, tight fitting tops - PLEASE! Do you really think that someone who has a 11 month old son (we know what babies to to tummies!) looks good in a tight shirt? I absolutely don't want to see my flab falling out of my shirt which I am positive nobody else cares to either! Either you are looking at skin tight or a moo moo! Drives me crazy to think I am the only one in this world who is facing this problem. I wish the fashion people would take into consideration "normal" people and start making clothes that work for us. Ok, enough of that rant! Back to shopping.. I spent 2 1/2 hrs in one store! I think I managed to try everything everything in the petite section on at least once. I did find a few things which was a relief. I walked over to 2 other stores before I said enough was enough. After spending to much money I was home bound. I always freak out on the way home from a shopping because I analyze every purchase and I convince myself they look terrible and they are going to look like crap when I put them on at home. The very first thing I do when I get home is have a fashion show for my hubby to get his reaction. Unlike some men, he is brutally honest and when something looks terrible, he will tell me, I'm not lying! I will never forget the time I asked him, "Does this make me look fat?" and he said yes! Did I about fall over or what!! He just looked at me and said, "You asked me didn't you?". How do you argue with that? As I am trying on my new clothes I am dreading his reaction! To my surprise everything I bought, he liked!! YIPPI!! I do believe that was before he saw the cost of this little shopping trip.. He didn't say anything, but I could see the pain in his eyes.
I am just happy my shopping days are over with for a while. We head out on Thursday for Denver! We are not sure how long we will be away from home, all that is certain is that from June 28th thru July 8th, we will be off work! I couldn't be more excited about this break. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with Craig and Micah. It is a much deserved break from our daily life and I hope it is as much fun as we anticipate it will be. I will drop a post with pictures and stories after our return.
In won't be here to post on the 4th of July, so........

Oh man, the joys of shopping. I swear you just know how the whole shopping day is going to go by the first two minutes in the dressing room.
I am glad you found some stuff!!
Honesty is always the best policy...just remember that when Craig is being VERY honest!! :)
Have a great 4th of July!!
I have also been very frustrated trying to find clothes. I keep buying, and when I put it on, it is tight & clingy. If anyone else knows the secret place to get nonclingy close, let us in on the secret, please!! I am SICK of wearing mens t-shirts. Enough ranting......
Enjoy your vacation! Have a safe trip and dish when you get back. Happy 4th to you also!
