Catch Up Time!

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post! Time just seems to get away from me these days! The weeks have been flying along and I am not sure where the time has gone to be honest!
Day to day life gets to be so routine, I almost don't know what I have accomplished at times!
Monday night is Micah and mommy night! Craig shoots pool so we have our night together. We have our tradition of popping popcorn, snuggling in the chair and watching "babies"! That would be the tv show, Jon & Kate plus 8 on TLC. Micah loves that show and I have to chuckle when he points and says "babies" because the kids are older than he is!
Tuesday night is daddy and Micah night as I have volleyball. The season has been going ok, I am not sure of our record, but we should have a record of close to 20 wins/10 losses. Not terrible, could be better of course! I am having fun which is the main thing!
Other than those two nights, we don't to many planned activities which is nice.
This last week, Craig and Micah picked up our new blinds for our living room and dining room. They are still sitting in the box in the living room! We haven't had time to even look at them! Hopefully the end of this week we will get a chance. I will post pictures when we get them up! (0nly if I like them of course!! LOL)

The past weekend, we decided to take a trip down south to Nebraska! We hadn't seen any of the family since Christmas so it was a good opportunity. I had Friday off due to no sitter so Micah and I picked Craig up on the job site by Salem in the afternoon. We arrived in Ulysses around 9:00 or so that evening. Saturday we got up and went into Lincoln to have lunch with some family at the mall. Micah and I had the chance to ride the carousel they have in the mall! It was very pretty! Micah didn't like it at first, but we managed to get through it ok. I probably should have put him on a horse that didn't go up and down, but we had a good time anyway as you can see!

Micah & I on the carousel
After the mall, we went to a local motorcycle show. Craig's step brother Craig was there with his club and his son Seth. It was great to see them. Seth is a senior in high school this year and has signed up with the Marines! He will leave for basic shortly after his high school graduation. We are extremely proud of him! Serving our country is a great honor!
Craig, Seth & Hubby Craig
Sunday we had lunch with mom and dad, then we were off to Lincoln again! We went into Aunt Diana and Uncle Daves to watch the Daytona 500! It was a great visit and I am so thankful we spent some time with them. The race was a disappointment for both of us, as Gordon had suspension problems and Kenseth was taken out by a fellow driver! We were happy for Newman, honestly I didn't care who won it as long as it wasn't Stewart!! I know, that is mean, but he is not my favorite. After race, we had supper which was wonderful! We found our new favorite side in Diana's potatoes! Diana also gave me her aunt's sewing machine which was wonderful! I don't know how to do much with it, but some day I will be able to put it go good use hopefully!

Micah, David, Diana with Molly and Lucy the puppies!
We returned to grandma and grandpa's house around 9PM. Les and Erma (Grandma & Grandpa's friends) were there playing Rummikub which Craig and I were both itching to play! We had our chance and finally at a little after Midnight we decided it was time to put the game away!!! We both decided we need to play the game more often as we both really like it. Micah enjoyed sitting on Grandma's lap stacking her chips too!

Monday we had lunch and Aunt Eileen came over for a quick visit. It was great to see her! Then it was off for home. :(

Aunt Eileen with Micah and CraigMicah sure loved seeing his Grandma and Grandpa! It was fun to see him talking and interacting with them! I think in 3 days his vocabulary tripled!
Micah with loves for Grandma and Grandpa
He was so tuckered out on the way home he slept for the first 3 hours of the car ride without moving. He finally woke up and after a little while he must have realized he was hungry. In his ever so cute voice he said, "Mommy, moooommmmy, EAT! EAT!" You probably had to be there, but it was very cute.
This picture melts my heart! Micah convinced Grandma she just HAD to read him a book!

Your weekend sounds busy and fun! My boys....all three of them!!....love the Cornhuskers and would love to go to Lincoln to hang out!

I can't wait to see the blinds. I hope you like them!

That's funny that Micah likes that show. I used to watch it but I haven't lately. My kids used to do the same thing....point at someone older than them and say "baby." Funny!!

I am sorry about what happened to gordan! He he.

I think its great that you get to see your family often. I know that probably seemed like a long time to you, but I can go 6 months without seeing my parents. And they only live 1/2 hour away. Sad I know.

Colter is just starting to get into the book reading. Grandma reading a book to Micah is so sweet. It gives me the warm fuzzies. :O)
