Howdy everyone!! What beautiful weather we are having! FINALLY!!! I am sure it will be short lived as I believe rain is in the forcast, but no complaints from the Nelsons!!
We had another busy weekend. Friday night we headed out to the lake to have supper with some friends of ours that were camping. What a nice night to be doing that!! Micah had a blast roaming around out there with no worries! I had worries of course, but he didn't seem to have a care in the world! After experiencing the atmosphere out at the campground, Craig and I both understand why people camp. What a nice, relaxing, carefree environment! I hope that in the future we will be purchasing a camper and making that our family time!!
Saturday we were Alcester bound again. We spend the day down there with my family and we went to Tonia's bridal shower. It was a nice shower and she had a good turn out. I did decide to pass completely on the bachlorette party. I have seen pictures and I all I can say is they look like they had a great time!! I surely would not have kept up!! :) Here are a couple of pictures from the shower...

Tonia with her bow bonnett!! Cute, I wonder if she will wear that as her veil for the wedding??
John and Tonia will be married on June 7th! I can't wait!!!
Sunday, I was off to SF for our biweekly shopping trip. It wasn't to bad this time. Graduations must have thinned out the crowds! We had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, we always get their salad bar! YUMMY!! We did venture into Sam's Club (Dana has a membership).. Do any of you shop there? I am thinking about getting a membership, but I am not sure it will be worth it. Somethings weren't that great of a deal and I am afraid all we would buy is a bunch of stuff we don't need!!! Let's call this a Sam's Survey! Let me know what you buy and why?
When I got home, Micah and Craig were mowing the yard! This has been decided to be Micah's favorite thing to do in the whole world!! He will stand at the door and say "Turn!" which translates to "I want to take a turn on the mower, NOW!!!" The main problem we have is that our neighbor Mike has a mower just like ours. It is a JD riding mower. Well, last night, we were outside grilling and all of a sudden, MICAH WAS GONE!!! Scared us to death! We have a large yard (Block long & 2 lots wide) - but we couldn't find him anywhere! Finally, I looked over that the neighbors, SURE ENOUGH, there he is - in the back yard, sitting on his mower, trying to start it up! DANG KID! Oh did we have tears after that one, he was bound and determined he was going to get a ride!!! It might just be time to think about getting Mr. Micah a battery operated vehicle just to keep him pacified!!

On Monday night, we recieved some sad news. Craig's grandmother, Hazel has been having some pain and she was taken to the hospital. They did a cat scan and it was discovered that she has cancer in her liver, pancreas and large intestine. The prognosis is not good at all, a few months is the guess at this point. She is a wonderful woman and although Craig doesn't show it, I feel this is tough on him. He spent a lot of time with Grandma when he was growing up. He dad would be working on the farm and Craig & Ryan would be with grandma. Lots of memories and good times with her. We are going to head down to visit her this weekend I think. We are praying for a miracle, but realistically we are praying for peace and comfort for her. Cancer is a terrible disease and it can be so cruel. We hope that God provides strength to Hazel as she fights this fight. Please, any extra thoughts and prayers are appreciated!!

Sounds like the bridal shower was fun. How scary to lose Micah, even for a short time. That happened to us with Gage once at church. Very scary! So sorry to hear about Craig's grandma. What a cute picture of his grandparents! I love older people, they are my favorite to hang out with and listen to their stories. Have a good week!
How scary about Mr. Micah. I would be livid. Definately prayers and thoughts for Gramma Hazel and your family. Cancer is a terrible thing to have to go through. Hope you get some good visits in with her in the next few months if that be the time she has.
It sounds like it's time to get Micah his own John Deere! He can come over anytime and try ours!!
So sorry to hear about Grandma Hazel. Having a cancer scare myself...it's a pretty stressful situation!
We have a Sam's Club membership. We utilize the GAS at Sam's the most. It's always cheaper and as much as we go to SF...it is worth it. I have a hard time going into the store. We buy things we don't need and I have a hard time trying to determine if it's really feasible to buy in BULK. I do daycare so I SHOULD utilize things in bulk but I don't. If I could just stick to a LIST...things would go better. As much as I HATE Wal-mart...I like that I can get everything there. There are some things we need that Sam's doesn't have...therefore having to make the trip to Wal-mart anyway. I like the one-stop-shop.
We don't have a Sam's club, but we have Costco, basically the same thing. We actually uped our membership to executive this year. With the four of us now, we are going thru the food. We generally get our milk there...it's about 50 cents cheaper...bread and meats. Oh, and most important...baby wipes. Couldn't live with out them!
So sorry to hear about G-ma Hazel. I know how dificult the coming months are going to be. We just lost our G-ma and G-pa to cancers in the past two years. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I love hanging out at the campground. I am working on Al. Someday, perhaps we will see you out there.
