Our crazy life.....

On November 14th we took Micah to Playhouse Disney Live in Brookings. He LOVES Mickey as most children do plus the added bonus was HANDY MANNY! Honestly, I think he enjoyed Mickey and friends and Pooh, Tigger and Darby the most. Handy Manny and the Little Einsteins were fun too, but I feel he really didn't get excited about them. I think it was because they were "real" people dressed in clothes and the connection between the animation and the "real" deal was lost. When Mickey came out on the stage, Micah was waving like a mad man and yelling "HI MICKEY" over and over. You could see the excitement in his eyes and the smile on his face. It was one of those joyous moments as a parent we are so fortunate to witness. He had a very similar reaction when Pooh, Tigger and Darby came on stage. He just loves that Tigger! :-) It was a wonderful family adventure for us and I am thankful we were able to give it to Micah. Here are a few pictures and a few video's of the show..

On Sunday, November 15th, we had family pictures at church. Micah had a good time taking pictures as the photographer took a few of just him and he was allowed to show his “muscles”. I am not going to post the pictures on here though as we are using them for our family Christmas pictures, so you will have to wait! Sorry.. J

On Monday the 16th, I shot pool for the first time in 3 years for league. One of Craig’s teammates and our friend, Bill was in China! He was in China with his wife Monica, daughter Lizzie and his step mom to be united with their new son, Wyatt. They had a wonderful trip and we are so happy for them. They have been blessed with two children from China. They are wonderful people and we could not be happier for them.

As far as shooting pool that Monday, wowzers it was what you would call a disaster! J I couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn that night, but I guess it wasn’t terribly unexpected since I haven’t shot for 3 years! I would get a chance to redeem myself the following Monday on the 23rd however. I played much better and actually walked away saying, “I do miss that game!” Someday I will get the opportunity to play again.

On Wednesday’s we still have Micah in the soccer class. He is doing MUCH better and hasn’t cried for a few weeks now. I am sure it has nothing to do with the reward of stopping by the local Dairy Queen afterwards for Ice Cream if there is no crying! J He really does like going and he enjoys the “game” of soccer, he is struggling with the “boring” stuff and the things he finds difficult. It has been a good deal all the way around for us to understand how he operates and to learn how we need to handle different things with him. He is very hard on himself for only being 3 years old so we have to work on encouraging him to do it and to remain positive when he is struggling with something. I guess that is the golden rule of parenting 101 isn’t it!

Friday the 20th, Micah and I went to SF to meet up with some old friends of mine. Our first stop was a basketball game for Trenor, Cherie and DeWayne’s son. Micah loved the game! He looked at me during the game and said, “Mommy, I should play that game!” I simply told him he can do anything he wants and if he wants to play basketball that would make mommy and daddy really happy. He smiled and said, I want to play that game! Haa, after the game we went to the hotel where Pat, Loni and Caden were staying. It has a water park and ohm boy Micah had a ball. He loved playing with Caden who is a year old than him. Needless to say, the opportunity to visit with Pat and Cherie was limited as Loni and I took the kids swimming. Loni and I however had a lot of time to catch up! It was great to see everyone and hopefully we will get the chance to do it again soon! I didn’t get any pictures of them swimming as I was in the pool too and didn’t want to soak my camera to bad! Haa..

#32 Trenor on Defense...

#32 Trenor again..

Saturday the 21st, Craig wired at a friends new house so Micah and I spent the day together. Micah had a webcam visit with Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Mike in the A.M. He loved every minute of it and is really getting the hang of it. Everytime he sees someone he tells them, "We should talk to you on the computer!" It is so cute, but scary to think a 3 yr old knows that much about computers already!! Haa...
In the afternoon we went to the local craft fair where we found a few goodies we couldn't live without! Later in the day we headed over to Bill and Monica's to meet Wyatt for the first time! Micah was so excited to see his buddy, Lizzie and hang out! Wyatt is definitely a welcomed addition to their family! They have so much love in their hearts for their children it wonderful to witness. Micah absolutely loves them and they love him just as much!!

Wyatt & Sister Lizzie!
Sunday the 22nd we had church in the am and then in afternoon we had a date with garbage! We volunteered as a family to help the church pick up trash along a 2 mile stretch of highway right by town. We brought Micah’s gator for him to drive figuring it would keep him busy. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate as it was dreary and raining. It didn’t rain a lot, but enough to make Micah cold and miserable. He hung in there with us, but by the end, he was done. I mean DONE, he wouldn’t even push the gas pedal or steer his gator. Poor little guy was not having any of it. Thankfully daddy and one of the other volunteers helped him out by driving him to the end of the path and waiting for me as I went back to get the truck. All in all it went ok, but next time we will pray for sunshine and heat for our little man.

The 23rd was Craig’s 34th birthday. When we woke up that morning, I told Micah it was daddy’s birthday and he got super excited! I started singing happy birthday to Craig and Micah put his little hand on the side of my face and said, “No No Mommy, you can’t sing until you make his birthday cake!” I thought, OH crap, what are we going to do, I hadn’t planned on making a birthday cake! Micah also proceeded to get upset with us when we told him he had to go to Jolynn’s because he wanted to go to his daddy’s birthday party! Haa.. We finally convinced him it would be ok and he wouldn’t miss anything. All morning I debated on what to do about the birthday cake situation. I decided at noon I would whip up a cake! Micah was very happy and we sang the happy birthday song to his daddy! He was extremely proud and excited to have cake of course!

That is what we have been up to these days.. I will post again about Thanksgiving real soon!!

Ta Ta for now!
