Micah's new past time is listening to rock and roll. Specifically, he likes to listen to Poison's "Nothin but a good time". I know some of you are thinking, "REALLY? He is only 3!" He a rocker and when he is a persistant pest from the back seat, you give in and play the song!! He officially knows the words and can sing along with Brett Michaels perfectly! It has been suggested by some people that one of our next purchases be "Rock Band" for the Wii. We will have to see if that happens, but I do believe Micah would LOVE it!!
Micah jamming to "Rock and Roll!"
On January 6th, my friend, Val's daughter, Lexi had a basketball tourney in Chester. Micah and I went over to watch her for the day. He likes Lexi alot and she may have become his best friend that day! She let him play her Nintendo DS!! Oh brother, he's in love! haa.. Her team did very well in the tourney and ended up getting 2nd. WAY TO GO LEXI!! I put her basketball picture on our fridge and he constantly says, "That's Lexi, she plays basketball and I am going to someday!" So funny...
The rest of our days have been filled with continued construction and daily routines. Craig has been working on our spare bedroom. It was gutted down to studs and to date it is sheet rocked, taped and is textured. He will be priming either tomorrow or this weekend. Next will be my turn! We need to get the trim so I can stain it! Craig will be doing some work on the floor to prep it for carpet and we should be closer to finishing it! Next up, WHO KNOWS! Where do we start, stop? That is the question these days. We need to make a priorities list again as things keep getting added to it!
We have also embarked on a Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace University journey at church. We have joined a small group and financial peace is the topic this session. If you have not heard of Dave Ramsey, I encourage you to google him and read a little about him. He gives a great class and we enjoy it. So far so good for us, the class has pushed us to do some things that we already knew we need to but were dragging our feet! A+ for Ramsey!
We continue to hope and pray that Craigs dad will continue on his path to recovery from cancer. He is post radiation and chemotherapy. He is currently in a holding pattern for approx 2-3 months. The last cat scan showed his tumor has not shrunk as much as the doctors would have liked. They are hopeful that the next few months will allow the chemo to work further and still shrink it. At that time they will reassess and see where they are. The goal is to not have a colostomy bag the rest of his life, but in truth there is a large chance that will be the case. We pray that God keeps his hand on Harlan and Sandy, we pray for healing and strength for all of us. Even though Harlan has tolerated everything very well treatment wise and he is probably the most awnry man I have ever met (but we still love ya Harlan! LOL), we are still aware that a much higher power is at work. Please keep them in your prayers.
