Christmas Day 2010

Christmas morning came and one little boy was super excited that Mr. Claus found his house! As excited as he was, he was very patient in waiting for everyone to get ready to open presents.

Here is Micah and the Santa presents.
Baxter and his stocking.
He knows every year he gets one and he reminds us by meowing and meowing until we get it down!
Grandma and Grandpa opening their gifts.
Micah - Christmas morning 2010
He had opened a few presents before this and you could see he was becoming a bit disappointed. He never said anything, but you could tell by his actions he was sad that he hadn't gotten anything he asked for. Santa was pretty smart, he had his "favorites" last in the pile. It was worth the wait to see him squeal with delight when he opened this game! It believe the squeal was more because he suspected what the next gift would be but he was happy none the less!
Daddy helping Micah open is new Pop the Pig Game! Just what he asked for!!
This was how he wanted to spend the rest of his morning. With his new Nintendo DS! It was RED, his favorite color and he couldn't have been happier!!

After we spent our morning opening gifts and spending time together, we welcomed the rest of the Nelson's for dinner! Everything was delicious and the company couldn't have been better! After we cleaned up and got settled in for the day, it was once again time to open presents!!
The glassed Micah bought everyone for Christmas! They were hand picked by him specifically for each person. I think they look stunning! :)
Ebeni recieved a cotton candy machine for Christmas and it was then time to bust it out! It was the coolest thing, you throw in two pieces of hard candy and out comes cotton candy! Who would have thought it would actually work! Everyone had a great time trying their favorite flavors! We tried everything! Werthers (Yummy!), Strawberry Cream Savers (Yummy!), peppermint candy cane (not so good) and many others. It was a lot of fun!! Thank you Ebeni for sharing your gift with us all!!
New version of Nelson Rock Band!
We ended up the night with the kids syncing their DS's and all playing together. They had so much fun spending time together. Micah loves his cousins and the feelings are mutual from them! It is great that he has the opportunity to grow up living close to family even if we don't see each other as much as we should!!
Grandma checking out the DS action!

Micah and Daddy sharing some loves..
My family, man I am blessed to have such awesome boys!
Grandma and Grandpa with the grandkids!
Here is where we found Baxter after everyone left. His new bed! Micah got this for him as a gift, he thought they just had to have a bed! Good choice buddy, good choice!
Sylvester gave us quite the scare! She had a seizure and we all witnessed it. I really thought she was going to die right before my eyes. We had no idea what was going on or why she was having problems. She has been steadily losing weight, but we didn't think much of it. After her episode, I thought for sure she would be going to heaven in the near future.
Sylvester hanging out after her long day..
Sunday we decided to give her small amounts of soft food every hour or so and see if that helps. How this came about was had some ham left over and gave her some. She literally just about bit through my finger trying to get it. It dawned on me at that time that she was starving! The food thing went great and she seemed to perk up a little bit. We didn't see any signs of more seizures so that was also a bonus. Craig took her to the vet on Monday and I was anxious to hear what they found. My heart said she probably wouldn't come home from the visit. Well, they took blood and found nothing wrong, they checked her teeth and found nothing wrong and they couldn't see anything physically that would have been wrong. The vet agreed that it might be a food issue and a Baxter issue. We think he was hoarding the food from her and not allowing her to eat. We are not sure how this all transpired, but it could possibly be from when she had all her matted fur. I think she was hurting at that time and probably gave up the fight then. So, we started feeding her soft cat food separate from Baxter and she seems to be on the mend. No throwing up or any liter box troubles so we are thankful for that. She eats about every two hours so far (when we are home) and we have finally reached the point where she will leave some in the bowl if she is full! It took about 2 full days to get her to that point. I would say she is on the mend and for that we are thankful. I completely understand they are only our pets, but we have had them for so long they are a part of our family. The day is not to far away that we will have to say goodbye to them as they are getting up there in age, but for now, Sylvester used one more of her 9 lives and is still with us.
I hope you all had a Christmas blessed with happiness and joy!

Micah got some great gifts...I bet he loves the DS! They have great games for younger kids on the DS. I'm glad your cat is OK. After just having to say goodbye to our dog I know how hard that is! I hope she stays healthy!!
