Dreaming of Spring!

The weather has been teasing us! We are granted a few nice days here and there but the rest are filled with snow and/or rain. We have been so thankful for the nice days! We have been filling them with bike rides, riding gators and getting things moved out of the shed in anticipation of nice weather! On Monday the 11th, after a lot of pestering, Micah finally got his beloved gator out of the shed! He was so excited and we had to drive down to see his cousins!!

Look at that smile!
We returned home and Craig was busy pulling the grill & picnic table out and he put the snow blower away! YEAH! He then pulled the mower out to get it up to snuff only to realize we need a new battery! Fortunately Micah was able to go for his first ride of the year and we all know how much he loves that! This year however brings on a new set up - he wants to steer!

There he goes!

Look at that - NO HANDS - Micah was having so much fun!

After the mower was put away, we decided to go for our first bike ride of the season. We allowed Micah to ride his and my goodness was that a challenge! We need to ride alot this summer so he can get more seat time! We didn't get much exercise but Micah had a ball, so it was worth it!

Wednesday, April13th, Craig and I went to Brookings with a group from church. We attended a book and discussion panel hosted by Alan Greene, Evangelist & Founder/CEO of Lifelight Communications. The authors were Bill Wiese who wrote 23 Minutes in Hell and Don Piper who wrote 90 Minutes in Heaven. It was a amazing to hear both of their testimonies! No doubt about it, Don's presentation was alot more appealing to the soul, but I think Bill's was a major reality check for everyone. I am glad we went and it was nice to spend time with some friends we don't normally get a chance to hang with.

On Thursday the 14th, Micah had a friend birthday party to attend. It was a tea party themed party and all the kids had to dress up in their best clothes! Micah was so excited about getting all dressed up. He loves lookin sharp! When I dropped him off, I had the opportunity to see the other kids and melt my heart, they all looked so cute! It sounds like the party was a huge success and everyone had a great time! We did however have a small "incident" with the tea cup colors that came home. Micah loved them so much he decided to color his new bed! I really thought those days were past us, but he never lacks in surprises! I have done a little research, but haven't had time to try to get it off yet. Kids!! Craig and I did take advantage of the time by going out to supper together. It was nice to spend a little time, just the two of us!

Friday the 15th we had our last night of our bible study on Revelations. It was a really good study and I am so glad we did it. I believe we are going to get together one more night and then see where it takes us. I think we are leaning towards taking the summer off as everyone's schedule gets so busy we are not sure if Friday night is the best time. We will see what is decided.

Saturday Dana and I headed to Sioux Falls. It was our bi-weekly grocery shopping trip and we also tacked on toy shopping! We had to buy the toys for the upcoming Easter Experience. We had a lot of fun shopping for those toys and I have no doubt there will be some happy kiddos on Saturday!

Sunday we went to church and that afternoon we headed to the bowling alley. It was time to bowl and fill Easter Eggs! It was set up where you bowled for an hour and then you could help fill the 20,000 Easter Eggs for the upcoming hunt. It was alot of fun, Craig and I actually ended up with the same exact score! Matt's comment was "what are the chances of that?" I simply said, "I guess we are just that in tune with each other!" I think I actually saw his eyes roll! Ha Ha

Amazingly all the eggs were filled in one day! After we were there for a little while, Dana and I ran over to my place to organize the toy stuff for the hunt. We ate pizza and the girls played with Micah while we worked, so it was a win win for everyone!

Some of the bowling crew

G bowling a strike I am positive of it!

The egg filling station!

Another big event of the weekend was Craig's upgrade! He got a different work van. It took him most of Friday and part of the rest of the weekend to get everything moved over, but his is all set up now. Micah thinks the "new" van is the coolest and keeps trying to convince me we all need to go for a ride!

The good ole boy. Bye Bye
The new rig

Bad thing is I probably won't recognize him on the road! I am so used to looking for his white van! There are two of these blue vans too, so that will make it that much harder.

Monday night I had a volunteer meeting to attend at the church. It was for everyone that is going to help with the egg hunt on Saturday. We thought it was important for as many people to have the details of the plan as possible. I think it went well and hopefully sharing the information will help make the day go much smoother. We continue our prayers for good weather! It seems as if the forecast is saying no rain which is good, but it would help to have a day or so be without moisture to help the football field dry up a little. Any additional prayers you are willing to send our way would be appreciated! Say some prayers for all the individuals involved in the planning of this too, it is going to take the entire army to pull this off without a hitch!

Our Easter Sunday plans are very limited. We plan on going to church but otherwise we don't have any plans. We are ok with that since Saturday is going to be busy. I think the down day will be just fine for all of us! I see a family nap in our future!

Until next time................................................
