Hello everyone! We finally had a weekend at home! Can you believe it? I know, I know, I couldn't either!
Friday, we didn't do much. Craig and Micah mowed and I worked on my family tree. I am up to 606 people in our tree, I think I am going to fine tune this information and call it good until after the reunion which is in 2 weeks. Micah and I went for a walk down to visit the cousins later in the evening. He always enjoys getting to play with them no matter how short the time.
Saturday, Craig and Micah worked in the garage while I went to Sioux Falls and got groceries. I have to say, good grief, the price of things has sure taken a hike! I generally don't notice the price of things, but it was enough that it made me look twice. I am sure it isn't going to get any better, so I guess we have to suck it up. I am generally not one to watch prices, I just get what I need. I have my favorite brands for things and generally I stick with it. However, if the prices continue to increase, that will change. I don't particularly like to make shopping a chore, it is more of a chance to save money by shopping somewhere other than our over priced grocery store and other stores, but it is also a day for Dana and I get catch up. Not that it is always a treat to go grocery shopping, but it is an opportunity for us to visit and keep up to speed on what is going on. The guys sure don't seem to have a problem with us taking time every other weekend to shop. The willingly watch the munchkins and are thankful they don't have to do the shopping!
Saturday evening we decided to head down to the local carnival with Dana, Gary and family. Dana's parents, Jay & Susan also met us down there. It was a good time. I wasn't sure how Micah would do, but he did wonderful. Bailey was a huge help, having them ride together on things made life much easier!! Thanks B!!! I think the cars and elephant were Micah's favorites. He didn't care for the dragon roller coaster much, I think it was a little rough for him. He did cry but didn't get hystical. He even said, "MORE" after it was all over. Despite his interest in returning to it, we decided against it. We also went on the ferris wheel as a family. This did not go very well either. I sometimes forget that other people might have a problem with that feeling you get in your stomach as you desend. I actually enjoy that feeling and heights do not bother me but I guess other people don't care for either! Micah was good until the point in which you would get that feeling in your stomach, he would shake. Yes, shake - like a full body shake. He didn't cry, he was actually really quiet. He managed to get through it but we were done after that ride. Afterwards, I was talking to Craig, explaining that I couldn't believe that bothered him so much. Craig informs me that he had the same feelings as Micah! Hummm.. I guess I need to think about that more when we decide to do rides!! I will probably be doing a lot by myself in the future!! After the carnival, we went to the local DQ and had ice cream. It was sure nice to spend some time with the Gonyo's and get out of the house for an evening of fun! Here are a few pictures.....

Sunday: FATHER'S DAY
We all got caught up on some much needed sleep! Micah and I were napping, and he got up first. Dad decided to take the opportunity to spend some father/son time. Daddy took Micah to the park! He loves the park and was talking about it all night. Since they were gone, I got started cleaning my carpets. Thank goodness that is done, I don't mind doing it, it is a matter of finding/making the time. We had a nice roast supper (that is one of Craig's favorite meals). We watched the movie, "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. It was pretty good, I liked the first one better, but I generally do. All in all we had a great day!
Micah giving Baxter cuddles!!
I couldn't believe Baxter was tolerating it! :)
That is our wonderful weekend at home in a nut shell! I hope everyone has a great week!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend at home.
We did too. It's nice to have those weekends when we aren't running somewhere.
We too took in the carnival with some friends. The kids only rode a few rides. But had a fun time.
Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. I wished there was a weekend we didn't go anywhere. I don't forsee it happening any time soon either.
Tess,
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I love what I do with the fd. After seeing that tornado near us in the fire dept. truck it was just second nature to head to were help was needed.
Keep in touch and let me know how their clean up has gone.
Sue
It sounds like everyone had a good time. Love the pictures. Happy Fathers Day Craig.
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! It's nice to have those weekends where you can stay home :)!
I hear ya' on the prices of groceries! Sometimes I think it's cheaper to shop in town (I NEVER thought I would say that) especially with how high gas is now. I'm still trying to figure all that out!
Glad you had such a wonderful weekend with your family :)!!
It sounds like you had a great weekend at home! I love the carnival pictures. I just took our kids to their first carnival a few weeks ago. They loved it! Cute cat!! It looks like Micah loves him/her!
YOU STAYED HOME?? Just kidding...it sounds like you got alot of stuff done!!
We didn't make it to the carnival this year.
Darn.
Happy belated fathers day Craig!
