We sure had a great weekend. Friday night we went over the the inlaws house for a couple of hours. The kids always have fun playing together and it was nice to actually get to visit with Brandy a little bit.
Saturday, we worked on a few things around the house. Later in the day we decided it was a great night to go to the races. We have not been to the races all year so it was time!! We have had such a busy schedule, plus we were really worried about how well Micah would sit still. I wanted to enjoy the races so I was worried we would be fighting him the entire time. Anyway, we were in the right state of mind on Saturday and we didn't have anything else going on!!! Yeah! We packed up our lawn chairs and drove our butts to Hartford. All the way down, Micah was saying, Races, Races, Races - I didn't think he knew what he was talking about but then he added McQueen to his conversation. Guess he did know somewhat! haa.. As soon as we got there - his face was lit up like a kid in a candy store.. He sat in his little lawn chair until intermission! Which was all the heats and some of the B features. At intermission we went and got popcorn - which wasn't as big of a hit as I thought it would be. It was stale, that might have had something to do with him turning his nose up at it! haa.. When the races started again, he played matchbox cars with some of our friends. When our friend, Matt's feature was starting Micah wanted to go sit with Matt & Marsha's son, Chase. I got approval and he went and sat on the blanket with him. If you can picture it, it was one of those picture perfect moments! I want to imbed it in my brain. These two boys were sitting on the blanket pointing at the cars, then looking at each other, then looking back at everyone sitting behind them. Micah proceeded to lean over and hug Chase, then they would hoot some more! It honestly warmed my heart to see my best friends son and my son having a "Moment" even if they didn't realize it! Ok, enough mush!! The race had the best case scenario happen, MATT WON!! Yippi! The boys got to go down and have their picture taken with the race winner! We had a really good time and we will be going again! Just not this weekend. Bummer...
Sunday, we headed to SF and did some shopping! Spent way to much money of course, but for the most part had a great day! Micah enjoys shopping (As long as fish crackers and car fruit snacks are brought along!)
This week is a normal week, just work, home, work, home. Fun Fun stuff!
This Saturday we have a 4th birthday party to attend on Saturday afternoon and we are heading to my hometown on Saturday night for my 15 yr High school class reunion! Yes, I said 15 years!! Crazy how time flies and it still feels like yesterday! We had 23 kids in our graduating class and I think we will have a little less than 1/2 there. Should be a nice time. We are just going do to supper and see where the night takes us! We are all pretty simple people so it should work out just fine.
I will leave you with a few pictures from the races. Enjoy!!
The winning crew!
Micah, Cindy's Nephew and Chase after the winners circle pictures!
As you can see Thumbs Up was the sign for the night!!
Garet & Zoe didn't quite make it through the feature race! Their little bodies just couldn't take anymore! :)

It looks like you had a great weekend!! I LOVE the races! We took the kids a couple times last summer but we haven't made it this summer yet. We really need to go at least once before the season is over! Great pictures of the kids!
Sounds like a fun time at the races.
Looks like the kids are tuckered out.
Have fun at your class reunion.
Al just had his 20 year class reunion a few weeks ago. My 20 year reunion is next summer. UGH! I feel like I am getting old.
I love his 2 year old pictures. They turned out great.
I've NEVER been to the races. I've always wanted to go, but it's never worked out. I was hoping that this summer would work, but it didn't. bummer...
It sounds like you had a GREAT time. I love the pictures!
I think we're going to take Dawson to the races on Friday night. It's one of those things that needs to be done before summer ends.
One of the many things...
