Catch Up Time!

I know, I know. It has been far to long between posts! It is easy to lose readers, so I hope that you will all stick with me! I think of you all often, sometimes I just don't get a second to spare to make a post!! So please accept my appologies for neglecting my blogging duties, I have to admit somtimes it is pushed to the back of the priority list.
Ok, so what have we been doing??? I will try to give you the abbreviated version! I am sure it will be a long post!! Hang on and enjoy the ride!
On October 4th, Micah and I went to the orchard/pumpkin patch in Harrisburg with our friends Dana, Bailey and Miranda. We had a great day!! The kids had so much fun running around and were also sick of us taking their picture!! :) We had a very nice experience and I hope to go back again!!! Here are a few pictures..
The following Monday we recieved word that Grandpa Gib passed away. He was married to Grandma Hazel who passed away a few weeks ago. He was a wonderful, funny, genuine man and we will miss him. He was known for always having an email joke printed off so when you arrived he could share it with you. I will never forget the first time I met him and Grandma. We went to a fish fry in Nebraska (Nebraska is big on Fish Fry's on Friday's - Every little town it seems has one!) Anyway, this was the first time I was to meet Craig's grandparents and as you can imagine, I was nervous. Craig tried to warn me about Gib, but of course it didn't sink in!! LOL. I sat down to eat, low and behold, I made the mistake of ordering breaded mushrooms! Gib in all seriousness asked me, "You do know what mushrooms are good for right?" I was stumped, no idea!! I don't know what I expected for an answer but I was not expecting the answer. He said, "Your sex drive!" Oh my goodness, did I want to crawl under the table.. You might not see this as embarrassing, but I did! I was 3 sheets of red and totally taken off guard! Oh goodness, I learned quickly, don't give Gib and inch - don't let him know he got you cuz he thrives on that!! It was a pick on the new girl supper that was for sure!! That first encounter made a lasting impression on me and I will never forget it!! He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed!! On Halloween he would have been 94 years old!!

Rest in Peace Grandma Hazel and Grandpa Gib

So, on Thursday, October 9th, we packed up and headed south to NE for Gibs funeral on Friday. It was a little difficult going back to the same church and people as when Grandma passed away and so soon, but I think everyone held up pretty well considering. We stayed at the folks (Harlan and Sandy's) Friday night we decided to head home on Saturday. We were just tired and wanted to get home so we had a day or so to relax before getting back to work.

I had Monday the 13th off of work, so Micah and I stayed home. I did take him to daycare for a few hours so I could go get my hair cut. WOWZERS, did I get my hair cut! It is really short! It took a day or so for me to get used to it, but know I love it!! I was so sick of having a mop of hair on my head!!

I also have started mixed league volleyball. Our team is doing ok. We are known to have our ups and downs, but we are hanging in there. I have missed a couple of weeks due to our trips to NE but I think I am holding my own despite missing a few nights. The exercise is good for me!! I need to do more of it!!!

This weekend we are off to my hometown to help my cousin, Lena put in a floor in her new house. Fun Fun stuff I tell ya!! Hopefully it will go well or we will have some crabby men and ladies around that place!! Have a great weekend and I will post again soon!!!

Sorry about Grandpa Gib...you guys have had a lot to deal with in your family the last few weeks.

I love the Apple Orchard here in Harrisburg...so fun!! We haven't been there for pumpkins yet, but I love the apples and the train!

I agree with Sandy...I want to see a picture of your hair cut!! I cut mine a little shorter and have been debating on going really short. So you'll have to post a picture...maybe it will inspire me:)
