This weather.. I tell you what, I am NOT ready for the snow and cold. I am not ready to be couped up in the house for months at a time with a two year old!! We will be looking for lots of "activities" to do this winter I have a feeling! Earlier this month, I found him new winter gear and he just had to try it on! He is ready for the frigid winter that is fast approaching - much to my dismay! Last week we managed to stay on our toes. Tuesday night I took Micah to the HS volleyball match. How volleyball has changed since my day! :) We didn't have a Libero player, which I really don't understand to this day! Not sure I see the benefit but then again, what do I know?
The serve can touch the net on it's way over and still count! I also witnessed a high school girl JUMP serving! Ok, have any of you ever tried that? It is very, very difficult! I was in awe that this girl was doing that and doing it well! Whew... Ok, back to the game, they didn't do awesome but the did manage to pull out a win. Have you ever watched a team that just didn't seem to have any fire? They were really flat, not much spark like they needed a fire cracker thrown out on the court. I know volleyball isn't a high excitement team sport, but the vibe they gave off was not good. They didn't seem to have great chemistry, like they were playing as individuals and not as a team. They have the talent no doubt, they are a VERY talented team. It is just a matter of getting them to play with heart. Hopefully they will pull it together by the end so they can move through the ranks.
Thursday night I had my "old" people volleyball league. We tend to go 500 for the night most weeks. We managed to do just that this week as well. I really enjoy playing, I hope that I will be able to play for many years to come!
Friday night we stayed home, did some rearranging in our house and just enjoyed the evening.
Saturday, we did more of the same. Micah and I did a project on Saturday afternoon. I was surprised he cooperated because he is very fussy with things on his hands and feet! (Dirt, food, anything - he hates it! - gotta wash hands!) Anyway, we recently purchased him this all white foot stool for the bathroom. I wanted to customize it a little so he knew it was his to use! So, out came the paints.. It didn't turn out perfect, but I thought for the first project we did of this type, it wasn't to bad. He seems to really like it and is super proud that those are his HANDS AND FOOT! :) After we were finished, I had a moment of panic.. I realized we used washable paint! Great job brainiac, how are you going to keep it on the stool?? It would rub right off if I didn't do something! So, polyurethane here we come! I sprayed it over the top and it seemed to do the trick. Whew! Disaster averted! LOL..
