Hello everyone! I hope that you all have a wonderful Thankgiving. It is a wonderful time to reflect and appreciate! I personally feel very blessed and extremely thankful for everything and everyone in my life! Remember not to eat to much and have a great day!!This past weekend was pretty busy for us! Friday evening we had my hubby's work Christmas party. We went to the moonlight and had supper and that was followed by games and socialization. We had a new babysitter for Micah so I was a little worried about that. After picking her up and letting Micah meet her, I had no worries! I could tell they were going to have a blast!! She must have worn him out because he slept in until 9:30 AM Saturday AM! That doesn't happen these days! I think she had a good time, all her dad said was she commented that Micah talked alot! Her dad said he got that from me! Ha Ha.. Very funny!
Saturday, I made a trip up the craft fair. I didn't get much, but I did manage to buy a few things. I was very surprised by the amount of stuff up there! I enjoy looking around at the fairs, but I can quickly convince myself I don't need anything!! Saturday afternoon, Micah and I decided to make banana bread. He had so much fun! He thought it was the coolest thing to get to help! I had to take a few pictures of course so you could all see my little helper!
See mom, my spoon!! It's for stirring!!
The finished product! Good work Micah!!
His car just had to be in the picture! :)
After we made banana bread, Micah and daddy decided it was time to take a nap! I was super excited they were going to nap! I had a plan but I wasn't sure how on earth I was going to pull it off but a nap made it simple!! See, Craig's birthday was on Sunday and I wanted to make him an angel food cake (his favorite!).. So, I gathered all the stuff and OH NO, I forgot I don't have a angel food pan! Good grief.. I thought about running to the store and buying one when I read the side of the box.. It said - angel food cupcakes! YIPPI!! I made cupcakes, I was a skeptic, I thought - Oh great, I am going to all this work and they are going to suck! :) To my surprise, they turned out awesome! I put them in a container and left them sitting on the counter. When the boys got up it was time to eat supper. I had made pork chops, broccoli/cheese rice and corn. It was a great way to start the evening. Then, Craig noticed the cupcake pan.. He investigated and couldn't figure out by looking what kind they were. I finally pulled out the strawberries and whip cream, which helped form a great big smile on his face! I know, it was Saturday and his birthday was on Sunday, but I thought it was the thought that counted right!!
Sunday, we were up early and we went to the St. Thomas pancake feed. This was the first time we had attended this and all I can say is - YUMMY! What a great breakfast. We got home and I gave Micah his card to give to daddy. He thought that was pretty cool. Micah was saying :Happy Burthday Dad all day! It was pretty cute.. Here is a picture of him sharing the moment with daddy..
Sunday afternoon we didn't do to much. Craig went and peeled potatoes for the Harvest Meal at the Playhouse. It is put on every year by West Center Baptist Church. He has been a potato peeler a few times. He peels much faster than I do so I let him have at it!
That night we decided to attend the meal. We weren't going to, but decided what the heck. Of course the meal was wonderful, the entertainment was great and we enjoyed the chance to visit with Ryan and Brandy as well as a few people we had never met before. It was a good night all around. I hope that Craig's birthday was a great day for him!
This weekend will be busy as well. Tomorrow we are staying in town and having Thanksgiving with some friends of ours. It has become a tradition over the years that we share this day with them and some of their family. We enjoy it greatly and hope to carry on the tradition through the years! Friday - I am not sure what is in store for me. Micah and I are going to be home due to no daycare. Craig will be working somewhere that day. I am trying to decide if Micah and I are going to head to SF. NO it won't be early and with all the crazies! I will be a straggler - there is really nothing I HAVE to have, so we will see.. I might start my Christmas baking that day instead. We will see what kind of mood we are in! Saturday we are heading south to have Thanksgiving with my family. It will be a good time I am sure. Sunday, we have as a down day but I am sure we will find something to do!!
Again, Happy Thankgiving all!!! Have a great weekend!!!
