Holiday Wrap Up

January 1, 2009
We brought in the new year by celebrating with our friends, Dana and Gary. We went to their house, played Wii, ate some snack food and let the kids hang out. It was a nice time and the kids had a ball! We were home well before midnight as the kids were exhausted! Micah had went to our friend, Monica, Bill and Lizzies that day and only had a 1/2 hr nap! He did excellent but he was tired! He couldn't keep his eyes open on the way home and he was out the minute his head hit the pillow!! Craig and I managed to stay awake until midnight but simply looked at each other and said, "OK - time to go to bed!" Yippy! LOL. We are officially old.. New Years just doesn't hold the same excitement it used too. We used to look forward to the New Years parties as soon as the previous one was over! Not anymore, we could honestly careless if we did anything! Yep, we are old! LOL

January 3rd, 2009
We were off to Larchwood, IA for the Sommervold family Christmas. Once again, the weather was not cooperating and my hubby was not impressed!! We managed to get there fine and enjoyed a nice meal and time with family. The guys shot a few clay pigeons. I gave it a whirl and can officially say I have no future in hunting or hobby shooting. I suck!!! I did hear rumors that Craig was being hailed as some type of sharp shooter. I am not sure I believe that, but it has spurred some interest in shooting for him. Hummmm... I wish I would have seen it so I could fully believe it! I somehow wonder if it isn't their ploy to convince me that Craig needs to purchase a shot gun.. Hummmm... The truth will set you free boys!! Haa..

We did have to cut our trip short as the weather was not getting any better. Craig wanted to try and get home before dark. That did not happen and I will admit, I wish we would have left earlier! The roads were terrible and the visablity was not any better. Craig did manage to get us home safe but his nerves were tested. I am guessing however he won't let me convince him anytime soon that "it is fine and it will get better as we get down there!" Opps!

Again, here are a few pictures.. I didn't get to many taken this year as we were playing outside with the kids and enjoying ourselves. Shame on me! No pictures!
Grandpa Martin feeding Andrew his dessert! Oh did he love it!!

Cameryn and Brooklyn modeling their dress up clothes!Micah sitting with Cameryn so she can model her dress up clothes!

Pretty Princess Cameryn!
Brian & Craig looking at his new RC Truck. Micah of course wants to play with it!!

Well, that wraps up our Christmas and New Years adventures. We are looking forward to all that will happen in 2009. Now it is on to the daily grind and what ever other adventures we can dream up!

Sounds like you had a great Christmas and New Years! I enjoyed seeing the pictures.
I know what you mean about getting pictures taken at family gatherings. Sometimes I do well taking a bunch and other times I think why didn't I take a picture of that.

I had to laugh about you and New Years and going to bed and getting old.
Ha! We did the same thing. I can hardly stay up that late anymore.I guess we are officially old too.

We celebrated New Years with friends too. And we were home by 10. Yup, we're getting old :) We actually didn't make it to a couple things because of the roads. It's too scary to travel on bad roads with kids in the car!! I'm glad you guys made it safe everywhere you went! Is that Craig's RC truck??? Now that's a boy toy!!!! I bet Micah really wanted to get his hands on that!!
