Hello from Las Vegas!!
Mr. Micah with his infamous Backpack! He was so dang cute pulling it through the airport. He looked like a well seasoned traveler!
Our travels today were wonderful! We left the house around 9:00 AM and arrived at the SF airport around 10:00AM. We had no trouble getting through baggage check and it was then time to sit and wait. We planned ahead and brought a picnic lunch to the airport! So, at 10:30AM we were sitting in the airport eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Micah loved it!! With backpacks in hand we headed to security and waited for our flight. At the baggage check, Micah did have a little mini meltdown about taking his shoes and hat off, but he was pleased to receive a Jr. SF Police Dept sticker after he went through the detector! He thought was very cool!!
Upon entering the plane, low and behold the captian was standing there. He and Micah became quick friends and Micah got a full tour of the cockpit! He was soooo excited and he even told the captain he was going to drive the airplane! It was a special experience and we are so thankful for the captain to take a extra few minutes with our little boy!!

After that excitement we got Micah buckled into his seat and waited for the big take off! I was not sure how he would do but he did amazing! He thought it was very cool speeding down the runway, but the weightless feeling was def. not his favorite! He buried his head in Craig's arm and the next thing we know, he was sleeping! He didn't even make it to the top altitude before he was sawing logs. He woke up about an hour later! Upon waking up, he climbed in my lap and we were ooohhhing and aweing over the clouds and the mountains! He told me he was going to jump on the clouds! I thought that was cute. After watching his beloved Diego movie, it was time for our landing. I was once again afraid of how he would do, but we made a game of saying WHEEE everytime that feeling in your stomach occured and he was all smiles!! Once on the ground, we saw the "towers" as he screamed on the plane and made the entire plane roar with laughter. Unsure of what the "towers" are, it was the infamous Las Vegas Casinos! :)So, Micah's first flight ever was a huge success. After getting off the plane, we proceeded to get our rental car and drive to Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Mikes. Micah settled in nicely and has loved everything about this day! We did manage to make a trip to Walmart and get a few things but other than that we just stayed home tonight. Tomorrow we are off to the Hoover Dam with the destination of Flagstaff. We are going to the Grand Canyon on Friday! I can't wait to see it again!! It is such a beautiful site. Rumor has it the forcast is rain, but honestly, we don't mind. We just want to go and soak it all in!
Well, that is day one of our vacation! Loving it!! It was 99 degrees today but it felt like 80!! It is amazing. The only thing that I will admit is I already miss the green grass!! Something about all the mute browns just doesn't do it for me..

See you should have just made the whole trip to Hawaii! Micah would have done great and we have green grass. Juliann even thinks Diego and Dora live in one area of the island. He would have been excited about that! I have been at the hospital since delivery and facebook is blocked from here. Mom said she talked to you. Hope you all have a great vacation!
Hey you three travelers glad to hear that you are there safe and sound..were glad that Micah loved his airplane ride. Have lots of fun and tell Jenny and Mike we said HI.
HOW FUN!!! That sounds like so much fun!!! I wish I was going to 99 degrees instead of 60 in Michigan. :(
