REMODEL

Oh brother!! Our house looks like a bomb went of!! We are 100% in construction mode and the outside of the house is in shambles. We are pleased with the progress so far, but good night it is a mess. At this point the only luxury I miss is having steps up to our doors so we can get in the house! We have been using a ladder! I know, all in due time.. Patience is a virtue! Seriously, it is going great and we are so excited to finally be making some headway on this very large undertaking!

This week we spent every waking hour doing something on the house. Micah loves being outside with us and seeing what he can get into. Last weekend was the wind up to construction week, so Saturday we decided it was time to give Micah his birthday gift. We decided to give it to him early for a couple of reasons. We wanted him to be used to it prior to other kids being around and we selfishly wanted him to have it to keep him busy during this construction process. So, I - yes, I put it together on Saturday AM and after his nap, he came out to see his surprise!!! Here is a little video!

Mr. Cool!!!

This is how he really feels!!I don't know about you, but that is funny stuff! He has gotten much better since then. I couldn't stop laughing after he did that. I thought, oh brother we are in trouble!! He has spent countless hours picking up sticks and dumping them in the stick pile!! He also was a huge helper when mom had to pull up all the pavers from our front door area. I would load them in his gator and he would drive them over to the pile and patiently wait for me to come unload, then repeat. It was pretty cute.. If I was taking to long, he would go and drive around for awhile and then return. Big helper..

Needless to say he is in love with his gator. He (with some help from his whitty father) decided his name should be "AL" gator. Good gracious.. I just about fell off my chair when Micah came in and told me his name. Hearing that come out of a almost 3 yr olds mouth was hilarious!!

On to other news. Micah is filling up his Backyardigans potty chart quickly!!! He has not had a potty accident all week!!! Last Saturday he decided he wanted to wear big boy underwear and that was that. We did reinforce the topic by telling him when he got his gator that only big boys with big boy underwear can drive it, no diapers were allowed. He seemed to take that to heart!! He has been dry every single day so far and 4 of 5 mornings he has been dry. We did have trouble with "the big deed" but he figured that out yesterday at daycare!! YAHOO!!! So, we are on the road to NO DIAPERS for good with Micah! I know we can suffer set backs, but it seems as if overnight he has the concept and he is running full speed ahead with it. I am sooooo happy and he is very proud of himself!! I think the amazing thing is that before when we tried, he was terrified of the big toilet, know he really doesn't seem to care one bit. I guess when they say, "When they are ready, they are ready" they mean it!

Well, that is about all our week consisted of. Oh wait, we did go to Baughman park to check out the new equipment. Micah loved it!! I stared at that thing in amazement and my next thought was, "Yup, there will be many broken arms and legs on this system!" I just hope it isn't my little man. I guess if it is, so be it. The kids sure seem to love it!!!

This weekend is the 4th of July!!! I love it!! We are heading to the Ramona parade and then to the lake to grill out with some friends that are camping out there. It will be nice and relaxing which is much needed for my construction stressed husband!! Love you dear..

You all have a very happy 4th of July and we will talk to you soon!!!
