After a fun filled weekend, we hit the ground running this week. Monday, Micah started an arts and crafts class at the local community center. Thanks to our friend, Dana he was able to go! She offered to pick him up and bring him back to daycare which was wonderful. He could not stand it, he was so excited to go to "school". For a couple of weeks he has been telling me that he is going to go to preschool. I think he picked this up at daycare from a friend of his, but it took me by surprise the first time! No, he is not going to preschool this year, but we will have to look for different things for him to participate in this winter. Craig and I have discussed that Sunday school would be an excellent place to start. So starts the mission of finding a church home. We have some thoughts but we are unsure of where we are going to go. Time will tell I suppose. We both have hang ups we need to get over and most of all we need to find a fresh start with no pressures. We just want to find our way and for us to do that we need to find a church family that will allow us our time and space to do so. This decision is for us, we don't want to jump into a congregation and all the wants and needs that they have, we want to strengthen our relationship with God. I guess we will see how this goes.
Sorry, I kind of got off track there.. Monday afternoon, Micah had his 3 year well check up in SF with Dr. Z. All looks great with him. He is in the 10th percentile for height (2' 11") (snicker snicker), and he is in the 50th percentile for weight (31 lbs). Micah didn't want to cooperate the best with the exam but we managed to get through it. He didn't want them doing anything - no blood pressure cuff, no looking in his mouth, no looking in his ears! He did let them, but some of it was with mommy breathing down his neck. :( I think it all happens so fast that he freaks out. he is a processor and a thinker, if you spring things on him that fast he doesn't necessarily like it. Oh well, we made it and decided to go shopping! Micah was super excited to go shopping with his birthday money!! We spent a lot of time cruising the toy aisles and finally settled on a few things. He bought a package of cars that had Diego, Dora, Backyardigans and the Wonder Pets on them! We then passed a end shelf and Micah made me turn around and go back! He was so excited, he had to show me, "LOOK MOM, A WHEELBARROW!" I asked him what he was going to do with that and he said, "So I can help daddy!" Needless to say, we ended up getting a little wheelbarrow too! He was very pleased.
Tuesday he had his 1st dentist appointment. As we were sitting in the lobby, I explained to him that I wouldn't be going back with him because that was the rules. He seemed to accept that just fine. When the hygienist, Kathy came out to get him, Micah looked at me and said, "Bye mom, see you later!" then he looked at Kathy and said, "Come on, let's go!" and off to the room he went. I guess we had no problems there! haa. He came out a little while later with a brand new LIGHTNING MCQUEEN Toothbrush!! You would think that was gold plated or something as proud as he is of it. The report came in and it was excellent. No cavities and no concerns at this time. Hopefully he gets my straight teeth and his dads quality. I have fillings and 1 crown and Craig has never had a cavity! However, my teeth are much straighter than his so lets hope Micah was blessed with the good parts of both of us! :)
When I picked up Micah at daycare that day, I had my first encounter with a couple of schemers! Micah and his BFF Chase had decided that Chase had to come to our house with us! I tried to explain that I hadn't talked to his mom or anything and didn't know if they had plans. Needless to say, I called her at work and asked if it was ok. Score = Micah & Chase - 1, Mom - zero! Haa. They had a great time playing together so I am sure it will be happening again soon!
Here are a couple of pictures of their activities...
Last night Micah swam in his pool, I mowed & Craig put up our tent. We are going camping Friday night with some friends of ours.
I have to share a couple things with you. These are all:
The Mouth of Micah
1) As he looks around the inside of the neighbors pop up camper, "This camper is beautiful!" Neighbor says, "Why thank you Micah". Micah says, "Your welcome!"
2) Sitting waiting in line at the pharmacy. He says to me about the lady getting her prescriptions, "Mom, she has boobs like you!" (Can you say, Crawl in a hole?)
3) After his shower: He goes, sniff sniff then says, "MMMM, I smell good!"
4) "Mom, you not listening to me!" followed by, "Moooommmm, One........Two.........Three! Mooooommy I'm going to spank your butt! (hummmmm wonder where he has heard that?)
Have a great rest of the week and upcoming weekend everyone!!

I have been putting off the dentist with Caymen. I suppose it's something we better get done at some point. I waited until Dawson started kindergarten before we took him. Hmmmmmm??
Your thoughts on church are almost exactly like ours. I hope you can find one you like!
Wow...2 appointments in one week, that's pretty good. Sounds like he is doing great health wise and teeth wise! Love the story about the wheel barrow.
I like the story about Micah and Chase! And it looks like they had a lot of fun together!
Hope your spanken didn't hurt too bad...ha,ha!!
