Let me just ~sigh~... Take a deep breath and try to get up to speed on what has been going on.
First of all, on September 2nd, Micah lost a very important friend of his. He was tiny and red and went by the name of Lightning McQueen the Famous Race Car! :-) He was playing with him on our table and due to construction, we have a hole that he found his way into. It of course was a spot where we couldn't reach him so we tried EVERYTHING! Craig even brough home the camera scope from work and that didn't do any good either. We could see him, but we couldn't rescue him. Between using valcro, grabby things and everything else "MaGyver" would think of, he remains in the hole. Unfortunately, he will remain there until the day that someone decides to tear the house down. The good news is, he has a twin!! He showed up at our house the following weekend and Micah couldn't be happier!! I have enclosed a video for your viewing pleasure!
You can see Mr. McQueen on the screen.. :(
On September 5th we went to Mr. Chase's 4th birthday party. Micah loves that little boy and oh did he have a ball over there. The only hiccup was the water balloon/water fight that they had. Micah wanted NO Part of that!! No way was he getting wet after the last time he had an encounter with water!! He proudly stood behind me thinking I would protect him! Which of course I did. Otherwise he had fun playing with all of his friends.
Happy 4th Birthday Chase!!

This last weekend was one of CRAZINESS! Friday night, I ran to SF with Dana and we got groceries. It was really the only time that worked well for us both. Friday's is NOT the night to go that is for sure. Everyone and their dog has that idea! We managed to get out of there in one piece and we were able to check one task off the list! :)
Saturday, I had a bridal shower for a friend of mine, Sonny. It was an open house, so I didn't stay long but it was really nice to visit with everyone while I was there. I then came home and made food for our friend Courtney so I could get that all in the freezer before Sunday. Saturday evening, we attended the St. Thomas Fall Festival. It was our first time ever going at we had alot of fun. Micah really like the fact that he got all that CANDY!! It was like Halloween but early! haa.. The only problem we had was the inflatable slide. He went up by himself but then he freaked out. He wouldn't come down and then he decided he was going to climb back down the ladder part of it. Well, Briana was nice enough to go up and get him and help him down the slide. He wasn't to impressed, but did manage to go down it one more time by himself which I was happy about. Other wise I think the little game they had where you threw the football through a net to win was his favorite. Maybe we have a future quarterback on our hands. Nahh.. Doubt it, he probably won't be quite tall enough for that position, but who knows.. Here are a few pictures of our Fall Fest adventure..
Micah was excited he got a RACE CAR on his face!! Thanks Lucy!!

Sunday morning we headed to the send off for the local 211th guard unit that is being deployed to Afganistan. They left town Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. We made a sign to show our support and a sign for our friends that know one of the soldiers well and will miss him greatly. To be completely honest, this deployment had really hit me hard. As we were sitting in the vehicle waiting for the caravan of soldiers and their families, I looked at Craig and said, "I can't imagine. At this very moment they are saying goodbye for over a year!" Of course tears welled up in my eyes. I truely can't imagine what those families and soldiers are going through. They are such strong people and must have such strong faith to be able to say goodbye and still keep going every day. I know the whole, "You have to, or you just do it" but truely they are amazing to me and I couldn't be more proud of them all! We will do our part by praying for these months to go by quickly for them all and for each and everyone of the soldiers to be returned to the loving arms of their families.
Micah was so proud! I tried to explain what was going on to him the best I could. His response was "They are going to fight the bad guys and win!" From the mouth of babes is all I thought..
Sunday afternoon four of us ladies went to visit Courtney and family. She is doing amazing and healing very well. She has a ways to go to be 100% but goodness, how far she has come is nothing less than a miracle. Amazing, truly amazing..
This next picture isn't very good, but his is our pet squirrel. He is always around our back door and the other day Micah and him became quick friends. We were out watching him and he ran up the tree. We watched him eat the "beans" out of one of those banana looking things that fall off the trees. I hope you know what I am talking about. Anyway, Micah decided we should take some "beans" out and put them by his favorite tree than he wouldn't have to climb so high! So, we did and the next day we went out to see if they were gone.. Yep, they were gone!! The picture is of the squirrel sitting up in the tree eating an apple. It was so cute. Micah thought that was the neatest thing! The only problem we encountered was when I turned my back and Micah was gone! He decided he was going to follow the squirrel where ever he went! Needless to say we had a conversation about that and all was good..

The house remodel of course has taken up every other second of our lives! We are growing closer everyday to throwing up the siding! Yippi!! That will be a wonderful wonderful day!! We might just have to celebrate after that is complete!! We will still have lots of work ahead of us after that step, but that is one gigantic milestone in the project.
I suppose this post has been long enough.. Until next time, pray for our soldiers and their families, pray for healing for Courtney and pray for winter to remain a long ways away so we can get our house buttoned up!!
