Halloween 2009

What a wonderful weekend we had!! Friday night we carves and painted our pumpkins! Micah had a ball painting his pumpkin while we carved ours. Yes, we are just big kids in our household!! After the completion of our pumpkins, Micah decided we needed to paint ours too! He was telling us what colors we should use and everything. After the completion of the project, Micah asked what their names were. We decided, Mommies was "Casper the friendly ghost", Daddies was "Bob" and Micah's was "Al". A good time was had by all!!!

Saturday AM, I ran to Sioux Falls to get groceries. By the time I got home, Micah was ready for a nap which was wonderful since we had a fun filled evening ahead! He actually slept and when I woke him up, I asked him if he was ready to get into his pirate costume! I have never seen a little boy fly out of bed so fast!!! To say the least, he was excited!!! So, we proceeded to get his costume on.. Here is what he looked like all ready to go!!!

Micah Halloween 2009.. Our little pirate, Arghhh!
He was in full character too!! He was so darn cute!
Mom and Micah before we went out.
Micah and his daddy!!
Friends, M & B aka Hannah Montana and Care Bear w/ Micah before all the fun started!!
Micah with his buddy Josiah downtown! These two are great buds!!
After we did the retail trick or treat, we also went to one of the nursing homes. This year they didn't allow the children inside due to the all the germs going around, but the staff was outside handing out the treats. It was decorated up really nice and they did a wonderful job with their costumes! Micah really enjoyed going there. After that we went up to the college dorms. All 4 dorms were doing something for the little goblins so that was fun. One of the floors had it decorated all up and it was dark. Micah was a little scared but I just had to remind him that he was the pirate with the sword and his job was to protect his mommy! He was sucked into that right away and he would point his sword at anything that scared him and do a big "ARGHHH, I have to protect my mommy!" It was precious to say the least.. After these stops we split up from our friends and went home for supper. After which we were headed out again.. All week Micah asked what Mom and Dad were going to be for Halloween. We didn't plan on dressing up but at the last minute I remember that we had some costumes downstairs from years ago. I dug them out and we dressed up to make our precious 3 yr old happy!!
Micah and his daddy!! His daddy wasn't allowed to wear this mask after this picture because it scared Micah and Micah told him to take it off!! :-) So, he just put on his convict hat and called it good..
Micah and his mommy, the jester.. He loved my hat and my cheeks!! :-)
While out and about we stopped to see the other Nelson's at Trunk or Treat.
Little Ms. Elijah

The Nelson 5. Not the best picture, but it was the best my camera would do.. I think it is time to consider buying a new one!!
After seeing the Nelson's we stopped over to see his BFF, Lizzie!! We stayed there for quite awhile as the kids disappeared because all they wanted to do was play!! Lizzie and her parents leave in a few days to head to China to pick up her new brother, Wyatt! We can't wait to meet him!!!
Lizzie and Micah
That was our Halloween! We had a blast taking part in a 3 yr olds excitement for the holiday and just being a kid again!! Today was spent going to church, taking a nap, working on the house, doing laundry and sorting candy!! My goodness gracious, how on earth is one kid going to eat all that.. The answer, He isn't!! I have 1 gallon ziplock bag of chocolate candy in the freezer and the rest is sitting out but might slowly be deposited into the trash.. We will give it a little while before we do that but wowzers, that is a lot of candy!!!
Well, everyone have a great week and I hope you had a Happy Halloween!!!!
Ta Ta for now!!
