Ho Ho Ho, Santa arrived in Town!

On December 12th Mr. Santa Clause arrived in Madison! Micah was excited about this event as this year he KNOWS what he wants from Santa. He did question how he could be here when we already saw him in NE, but after a quick explanation that Santa has magic powers and lots of helpers he was satisfied! He also wanted to know where Mrs. Clause was as she was with Santa on the last trip. After explaining that Mrs. Clause was busy getting Santa's things in order for his big day of Christmas and watching over all the elves while Santa was away he was satisfied. :-)

Micah waiting in line to see Santa!!

Micah explaining how he would like a Transformer, Power Ranger and Snapping Teeth!
I sure hope Santa knows what "Snapping Teeth" are, cuz mom is really confused! ha

Micah chilling with Santa!
It is official, Micah is on the Nice List!!

Micah building a candy cane ornament after he made a reindeer hat! I love his intensity! We have learned that when he is really concentrating, the tongue must come out. Is he the next Michael Jordan?? Ha

On Sunday the 13th we FINALLY put up our tree. We have all been struggling to get into the Christmas spirit this year. Getting the tree up and all the decorations hung, we are officially in the zone! It looks and feels like Christmas around the Nelson household!! Micah loved putting up the tree! He helped me put on all the ornaments and candy canes. I did have to rearrange without him looking as he had the bottom of the tree plastered with ornaments! That is a no no in our house because of Sylvester and Baxter our feline children. They will swat and play with anything within reach! Micah has been put in charge of tree patrol this year! Anytime the cats get close to the tree, he scolds them and tells them "Get away from that tree!" He has done a good job and so far so good as far as keeping it upright!

One word describes the next photo.. BURRRRRRRRR!
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. That does read -12 degrees and no that does not take into account wind chill. When we walked outside this day to go to daycare, Micah stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at me, started shivering and said, "MOMMY, I'm really cold!" Needless to say, I had to carry him to the car that day!! It amazes me how your body adjusts to cold temperatures, but good golly Ms. Molly this day was FREEZING!! I know some of you who don't live here either miss it and want to come visit or wondering why on earth we put ourselves through this. I have no answer as to why other than this is home!!
