Last weekend was a busy weekend! We kicked it off on Friday with a park date! I met my college friend, Lori and her 3 children at a park in town. They were passing through and thought it would be fun to have a picnic and a little catch up! The kids seemed to have a good time, despite the fact that her youngest and Micah butted heads a few times. To similar in age and personality I think. It all worked out perfectly and the weather was awesome! It was great to catch up with her happenings and be able to share what has been going on in ours. Hopefully we will be able to do it again soon!
Saturday was a work day!! I sanded inside window trim twice and stained it all once. It took me ALL day! We are running into a little problem with matching the color of the outside trim (Oak) to the inside pieces I am doing (Select board). I am going to have to get creative with mixing stain to see if I can darken it up. Should be interesting to say the least! While I was staining Craig worked on the lights in the church. They needed some TLC, replacement of bulbs and ballasts! He spent about 5 hrs over there, but it is done! He was very happy with that fact.
Micah stayed with me and about 1 1/2 after I started staining, he was BORED! He did a really good job of entertaining himself, but you can only do that for so long!! I decided to call and see if his 3 cousins wanted to come over and play with him for a few hours. THEY DID!! He was super happy and they had a great time riding bikes, playing baseball (even I got involved in that one!) and just being kids. It was great for me and super great for Micah!
Saturday night we decided to head to the races. Oh my gosh, I wish I would have had some video footage of Micah. He was so excited on the way down he couldn't stop talking. He was rambling a mile a minute about the strangest things. I am sure some of you family members are thinking "WONDER WHERE HE GETS THAT FROM!" As I was listening to him I had a flash back to when I was a child and I would get that way! LOL.. All through the races he was screaming with excitement! As they raced all you could see was a smile and once in a while you would hear "WOOOO HOOOOO! That's what I am talking about!!" (Seriously, that is what he would say) His new favorite race car is the B-Mod! The reason being is daddy likes them and I think Micah just likes to say B-MOD! lol.. We had a few people we cheered for. In the hobby stock class we had Dusty. Who is Micah's favorite driver at this point. He will ride around the garage on his hot wheel doing a play by play. "Dusty takes the lead, Dusty is going super fast, DUSTY WINS!" It is pretty cute. Dusty didn't fair so well on Saturday but from what we understand he has been having a pretty decent season so far.. Here is a picture of Dusty's car.

Our other driver to cheer for was Matt! He is always fun to watch and does generally does very well. He did not disappoint on Saturday night as he ended up 3rd place. Here is a picture of his car.

Micah and Craig enjoying a night at the races!!
That car is going to win daddy!!
The track had a special night for the kids. It was kids weekend and they had it set up with some of the hobby stock cars to come down and give the kids a RIDE in their race cars! I asked Micah if he wanted to do it and he said, "Ahh, No thanks!" I asked a couple more times just to be sure and he gave the same answer. While the line of kids grew, I was aware that the candy toss was going to be a long ways away so we walked up to visit with Nikki. The cars started going around the track and at one point Micah asked, "Mom? Can you go with me in that race car?" I said "No, I can't it is just for kids, but if you want to go for a ride, we could always ask Briana if you could ride with her." Micah thought about it for a minute and ultimately decided that would be a good deal and he wanted to go for a ride. Briana graciously said yes and took him with her. She is so good with him and he loves her and feels perfectly safe with her! They managed to go around the track and everything went fine. He had a blast and when I finally got to him his first comment was "They just went pokey slow mom!" LOL. That's my boy, the need for speed! Sunday we went to church and then I ran to Sioux Falls with Dana for groceries. We didn't really do anything other than routine stuff otherwise.
This week on the other hand has been CRAZY! Something every single night. Monday, we ran out to Jennie & Justins and picked up their 4 wheeler. We are borrowing it for our trip this weekend. Micah is IN LOVE with it and I think Craig is too!! I will be the first to admit, I would love to have our own 4 wheelers but I am afraid that will have to wait until the house is done.
Tuesday night Craig had a meeting and I worked on staining. Wednesday night we had a meeting at 7:30. Tonight we have the summer reading program sign up at the library and we need to pack for our weekend get away! We are sooo looking forward to it!!
Well, that is everything in a nut shell. You all have a great weekend!! Ta ta for now!
