Friends, Camping and just being....

Good afternoon!! What a great time we have been having! Micah has been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather! He has been doing what boys do, riding bike, swimming, collecting rocks and playing golf! The week of the 21st, we did not have a baby sitter so we had our neighbor girl watch him. She is in college, but fortunatley for us she likes kids and I think she has special spot in her heart for Micah. He was in HOG heaven having her watch him as they did all sorts of things!! They went to the outdoor pool, the park, out to dinner (twice), at an over abundance of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, went to the lake & library to name a few! She tuckered him out but it was great to see him having so much fun! I think back to when we had sitters come in for the summer or when I was the sitter in the summer. I loved being home for the summer and I have many fond memories of that time. I have often thought about having someone come in for the summer to watch him, but I think beings he is an only child he would get bored. He loves his friends and he would be lost without them.

This is Micah and his new buzz lightyear goggles! Man oh man, he loves them and wears them all the time! He is quite the kid I tell ya.. :-)
On Monday the 21st, Craig and I had our first Drs. appt with a infertility specialist in SF. Some of you know but some of you don't, we have been trying to have another child for quite some time and it just isn't happening. It is me, I have no cycles without meds and I am not ovulating / hence no baby! The doctor was very helpful and he is certain I have what is called PCOD or PCOS otherwise known as Polycystic Ovary Disease or Syndrome. He said that 10% of women have this but 50% of the women he sees have it. I guess that is good, he should be schooled on it! He is also concerned about a blockage of my falopian tubes since I had a infection after my c-section with Micah. So we will do a HSG scan to check those out and do a scan of my kidneys and uterus prior to starting medicine for treatment. He is going to put me on what is called Metformin. From what he said, it can be hard on your stomach so hopefully I will be able to handle it just fine. We will see how it goes, but we have already decided this is the end of the road for us and taking measures to have more children. We are in agreement that it is in God's hands and no matter what we do, if it is his will for us to have more children, he will bless us with them. If not, we have one amazing son and we will be happy with him and spoil him rotten! :) I struggle with this, as I have always wanted a houseful of children, but I am coming to terms with it and if we don't have more then so be it. Main thing know is to get my body regulated and be in sync again.

Ok, moving on....

Last weekend we went camping with our friends at Thompson. We had a great time and hope to do it again sometime. Micah absolutely had a blast and did not want to come home on Saturday! Good thing we did as it turned nasty weather wise and we would not have wanted to be in the tent again!! :-) Friday night we ate and then they decided to take us out on the boat. It was a nice time.
M & W on the boat
L having a great time!
Yep, he's still got it!
Super W!! :) Not sure what B is doing.. Shouldn't you be driving???? LOL
Micah enjoying the ride!!
Craig and W hanging out..
Micah's turn to be super!!
Craig with L & Micah! They just love each other!!
This week has been a productive week. I finally finished staining the trim and Craig cleared it last night! WHOOP WHOOP! Craig sprayed for mosquitos as we were getting picked up and carried away by them!! It seems to have helped but we will see how long it lasts!! We also had to put Terro around the house because we had a infestation of earwigs (otherwise known as butt pinchers). Ughh, they are gross!! It must have helped as we haven't seen many the last few days!! We also still have our birds in the roof, we have tried to find them, but are unable to. Hopefully they will be big enough to leave soon!!!
Monday the 26th, Craig, Brandy, Ryan and I ran down to Omaha. Seth's fiance, Alex passed away after a tough battle with a liver disease. She was only 19 years old. It was a very nice service with some amazing music. It was tough to see Seth struggling and that we could do nothing to take the hurt, anger, frustation or emptiness away. All we can do is pray that he is able to keep moving forward and if he needs anything let him know we are there for him.
On Thursday I took Micah down to get his hair cut. He has bugging me for a while that he wanted a MOWHAWK! We ended up compromising, I told him he could get one, but it couldn't stay. He could only have it for a little while then Jerry (The barber) had to cut it off! We have his 4 yr old pictures on Saturday so I didn't think a mowhawk was the best idea. Here are a few pictures..
Micah's first mowhawk!
I surprisingly thought it looked pretty dang cute!!
I almost let him keep it, but just couldn't get my self to do it..
Here is the finished product.. It is SHORT!!
Reminds me of John, Erik and Ryan's summer buzz cuts when they were little!!
Micah loves it, he loves that it is "Fuzzy".. He also negotiated that he gets to keep the mohawk next hair cut if he still wants one! I did agree to it too, so if you see a little boy with a mohawk in a few weeks, don't worry, we aren't freaks or anything, we are just letting him spread his wings. After all it is only hair and it will grow back.. Micah is also trying to get his daddy to cut a mohawk on his head! Haa.. Now that won't be happening, the last time he got crazy with his head and shaved it, 1/2 of it never returned!! ;-)
I hope you all have a great 4th of July!! We have a pretty mild weekend planned and hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Wow, 19 years old, that's heartbreaking! I hope Seth is doing OK. Good luck with all your infertility medications/treatments. I worked in infertility at the Mayo Clinic in AZ and it's amazing the things they can do for people to help them. I hope it works for you guys! Love the mohawk! I'm not a big fan of that hair cut either but we let Gage do that and keep it for one football game. Then we shaved the rest of his head too. I just couldn't leave it in a mohawk!
