The week of July 12th was spent prepping for a birthday party! Craig did manage to sneak away on Wednesday to help paint for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanities. He was recharged after that project, he said the lady was really appreciative and he would love to do it again. Friday night was the big push for us. I made all the food that I could ahead of time, Craig cleaned the garage, we got all the decorations up and we filled water balloons. At 12:30 at night you would have found Craig and I sitting in the garage chit chatting and filling water balloons!! We were so lucky that our friend, Marsha took Micah over to their house for a little while in the evening to play with her kids. What a blessing that was!! He had fun and we were able to bust some stuff out!
Saturday the 17th was Micah's birthday. I can not believe 4 years have come and gone. Seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital, watching him take his first steps, seeing his first tooth etc. Now we are looking forward to his first day of preschool! He is such a little man and I love him with all of my being. He is so loving and passionate about everything he does. Everything from getting frustrated if he is struggling to do something, to crying his eyes out when we have to leave someones house. Through his tears and sobs he will state, "I'll never get to see them again!" He can also be the funniest kid and his laugh is contagious. The true joy in his laugh is priceless and I wish I could bottle it up and save it for the teenage years! :-)
Ok, back to the party. It was scheduled to start at noon Saturday and it was HOT! I am not sure what the actual high for the day was but holy moly, it was a roaster!!!

Next it was play time. Most of the kids found their way into the pool at one time or another. It was definitely a favorite place! I just wish we would have had an adult pool too!!!
After eating and swimming, it was time to do presents. During his present opening, a very special guest stopped by to give Micah a birthday present! He was super excited and is still talking about it! He got his very own web shooter from the one and only SPIDERMAN!!! He has been talking about how Peter Parker is spiderman and all the kids who didn't think it was really spiderman don't understand how Peter Parker really is spiderman! ;) Yep, lucky for me he is a thinker! lol We had a few minor "issues" with some of the older kids and he scared the dickens out of the younger ones but over all I think it was a great time.
Spiderman and Micah!
Spiderman and a few of the kids.
During gifts, I gave the kids their goody bags and here a few pictures..

I took this one of Micah later. I think he looks like Pinocchio the wooden boy!
Next on the agenda - WATER BALLOONS!! This year I added a new game and it seemed to work pretty well. The kids who wanted to play I separated in 2 lines. One person from each team ran down to a milk crate I had a the other end. They had to sit on the water balloon, pop it and run back so the next person could go. Those little butts had a hard time popping them so I ended up pinching them to pop most of them! ;) In the end both teams won of course because we were all good sports! Everyone received a medal and then it was off to bombing each other with the balloons! It was a lot of fun, I even got involved and Briana tried targeting me this year! I think I won, I threw her in the pool! Of course later her dad shot me with the hose and soaked me, so Matt is on my radar next!
Jaxon saying hi!
After balloons and playing with Micah's new Buzz Light Year sprinkler, it was time for cake! I just about forgot about the cake!
Here is a picture of little Wyatt in Micah's pedal car. He just loved this thing!
About 5:00 I finally convinced Micah he needed to lay down for a little while. He was turning into a walking zombie! He slept until 7 when we woke him up so he would sleep that night!! We headed over to Ryan, Brandy and families house for Pizza with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson!
Sunday morning we said our good byes to grandma and grandpa and then we headed to church. After church we did our final clean up and return of borrowed items! We were all tuckered out so we took a nap in the afternoon! Oh how I love naps! Other than that we didn't do to much which was nice! Micah spent most of the day playing with all his new toys! We really didn't see to much of him as he played in his room most of the day!
Another birthday in the books! Micah is already counting down the days until his next birthday!!

What an amazing birthday party! Those decorations and the cake are amazing!! It's crazy how the years fly by isn't it. I can't believe that my "baby" is 7 already!! Not to mention that the other 2 are 10 and (almost) 12. Before I know it they will be going off to college! It's so fun to watch them grow and learn but it's sad at the same time.
What a GREAT birthday!!! He is one lucky kiddo!!!
