Date Night

Saturday night Micah and Craig took me on a date! We went to Sioux Falls for supper at Long John Silvers and then went to the movies. We went to the movie Despicable Me in 3D! This was the first 3D movie we have ever gone too. Micah of course was only looking forward to the popcorn and watching the "Despicable Me men!" He was really excited to know he had special glasses to wear during the movie! Oh yeah, he has been wearing them around the house ever since! He loved to movie and can tell you every detail about it.

After the movie got out, I had a text message from Marsha saying Matt had won his heat. We thought it would be fun to stop by and watch his heat race on the way home. We were about 2 miles out and she texted us that they had just pulled on the track so we better hurry! We managed to get to the gate where they told us we had to pay full price. Ummmm, no way were we going to do that, there was only 2 races left and we only wanted to watch 1! So we stood outside the gate where we could see 1/2 the track. Well, Micah was super excited because Matt was winning!! I finally asked the lady how much it was for Micah to get in. She said nothing, so I asked if I could take him to our friends and then come right back. She was ok with that, so I ran him down to Marsha because I had a feeling Matt was going to win and Micah would want to go get his picture taken with him! So, I left him there and headed back up top. Well, Matt did win and Micah got to take his picture with him and the other kids!! He has been talking non stop about the details of the race since!! All he can say is Matt was in the lead with 2 laps left and Jesse (AKA Superman) was bothering him, but Matt didn't let him pass him and Matt won!! It is so cute to see his expressions when he tells the story! After that race ended, we went in and got Micah and headed home. Well worth the 20 minute stop to see a little boy full of such excitement!

Today we went to church and then out to dinner at a fellow church members house. It was nice to visit with them and Micah loved their house! The lady had a party Friday night and the theme was Sesame Street - so she had Elmo, Big Bird and all the other characters EVERYWHERE!! His favorite was by far the rock and roll Ernie that played the guitar! Micah is napping now and Craig headed down to Husets with our pastor and some of the other guys from church. I hope they have a good time because I might just have one upset little boy on my hands when he wakes up and realizes his daddy went without him! I am thinking we might have a trip to McDonalds in the works just to keep the peace!!

This week is on to bigger and better things for Micah. He has his school open house tomorrow where he gets to take his school supplies to his classroom. As I have stated, he is extremely excited about going to school! Tuesday is his first day of preschool! Craig and I are taking him the first day and he will then ride the bus to daycare afterwards. He is most excited about riding that bus! I really have no reservations about him going to school as he is beyond ready! We have been talking about manners, raising your hand and taking turns talking because I think that might be his biggest problem. I totally expect to get a few naughty notes about talking this year!! I can hope that is the only problem right!!

I guess the good thing is "when" he needs glasses he won't mind wearing them! The only thing is we will have to have multiple pairs because he likes to change them all the time! :)
