Labor day weekend was a great weekend for us to spend together as a family! We traveled to Nebraska again for a little time with some friends. We arrived at their "farm" Friday night before anyone else had arrived. The lane to this place is untraveled and with all the rain, it was very overgrown! Fortunately Matilda our little GPS had told us exactly where to drive to so we knew we were at the correct driveway. We started down and as we got further and further in we started to get a little nervous! We couldn't see ANYTHING and we were driving through weeds higher than the truck. We managed to get through with no problems, but things are a little tense for a while.
We started to get things set up around the place when we arrived. Craig mowed and I started unloading things from the truck. We were planning on pitching a tent so I started looking for that stuff. As I dug further and further, I found the poles and the air mattress for the tent, but no tent! I asked Craig where it was and he had a look like, "OH CRAP" on his face. Yep, he forgot to grab that part! :) We communicated with the rest of the crew and it was decided there was enough room in the house for us, so that is what we did. It actually worked out great cuz it was cold on Friday and Saturday nights and then it rained on Sunday!
Saturday we got up and rode 4 wheelers for a while. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoy spending time with everyone! Micah absolutely loves everyone who goes and they seem to be fond of him as well! He was so happy to hear Meghan and Alana were both coming!! While we were out riding, we made a pit stop at Gary's new tree stand. It was a long ways up there and of course we had to climb up the tree and check it out!!

We also made a pit stop to play in the water and mud! Jason and Craig were trying to teach Meg and Micah how to skip rocks! Micah was all about throwing the rocks so they splashed, but Meg was getting the hang of it! There is really nothing like getting lost for hours in the great outdoors! Micah turns into a totally different kid! They all use their imagination so much more and just have fun being kids. I remember those days as a kid! Jason made the comment that he remembers going out there when he was a kid so at this point in time, the kiddos are making life long memories! What a true blessing it is to be able to give them that chance to build a friendship and be without schedules and limitations. Micah and Alana even had a wedding! Alana was his princess and he was her prince. It was hilarious to watch! We all got a pretty good chuckle out of that!
That evening we went to the pond and did a little fishing off the dock. No luck for us, but Micah seemed to enjoy casting out and reeling in!
Sunday it was more of the same. 4 wheeling and just hanging out. I had the chance to drive the 4 wheeler more this time which was great! It was awesome to know I could hold my own on the trails. I had a blast and if I had to guess I might have made Craig just a little proud! He was pretty happy with how I did since it was only the 2nd time I had ever driven a 4 wheeler! I am def. looking forward to next time (hopefully there will be a next time!)
Meg hanging out by the 4 wheeler. Such a pretty girl...
Mr. Micah! Man I love this kid!! He melts my heart on a daily basis!!
Daddy and Micah. Micah was smiles the entire time!!
Jason, Amanda and Meg
The three amigos! Micah, Alana and Meg. On Sunday they decided to make a drink/food stand for everyone to shop at! They swiped drinks and snacks from the house and coolers and made us buy them! It was pretty cute, they had it all set up on the trailer with chairs, signs and everything! We thought it was pretty smart of them to sell us stuff that they got for free! :) They had a really good time!!
We took Micah's gator so they had something to mess around with. They didn't ride it a whole lot, but did have fun when they did.
Craig and Micah horsing around. Micah just needs to rough house once in a while or he just isn't himself!! :)
Micah and Meg playing a little soccer. He had a tough time keeping up with his little legs, but it was a great way for them to pass some time!
They actually spent quite a bit of time playing cars. I was surprised how long they were happy doing that! Next time I might have to throw in a few more tracks and vehicles!
That was our weekend in a nut shell. We came home Monday afternoon and proceeded to do LOTS of laundry and unpack everything. This week has been non stop something since!
