On Tuesday, September 28th our family gained a new addition! John and Tonia had a bouncing baby boy, named Karzen Karl. He is the younger brother to Izzac and we couldn't be more excited for them! Sounds like everything went well for them and both mom and son were happy and healthy! Micah and I went down to SF on Wednesday to as we had a few appointments. Micah got his flu mist, we got Craig's coat fixed and I had an appointment as well. Micah was lucky enough to get to spend some time with John and Tonia while I ran downstairs to my appointment. He was much happier playing cars, drinking milk and eating chips with Uncle John vs sitting in a Dr's office waiting around doing nothing!! I think John and Tonia actually enjoyed it too as baby Karzen was sleeping and just being a content little boy. I dare to say I think they were a little bored sitting in the hospital waiting to go home so Micah was a welcomed break from the boredom!
Here are a couple of pictures...

Saturday night, Craig and I had a date night! Micah was so happy for us! He proudly announce to everyone (Including his Sunday class on Sunday AM) that his mom and dad were going on a date and he didn't care because he was going to Chase's house! He had a blast playing with Chase and Briana while we attended the Laughs and Linguine supper/comedy night in support of the Domestic Violence Network. We had a very nice time with the food being excellent, the comedians were good as well! At the end of the night they had a dessert auction where we bid on a few things but did not end up victorious. I wanted a basket of bread but it just went to high. Shucks!! Craig wanted a pecan pie, but of course same story, to much money.. I will have to attempt to make him a pecan pie and surprise him sometime!!
This week has been a crazy schedule again! Monday night we attended story time at the library. Micah got a game to play for the computer but to his disappointment the game was to old and our computer is to new, they are not compatible. Dang.. I guess I have a Christmas present idea for him! Tuesday night, I worked out and afterwards picked up Micah at church as Craig had a building committee meeting. Micah and I hung out the rest of the night and played a little Mario Bros on the Wii. Last night, I played cards with the ladies so it was Micah and daddy night! I have been told, they went to DQ and got ice cream, took it to the park and ate. I ended up getting home around 9:00 PM and they were cuddled up in the recliner sleeping! It was one of those precious scenes I wish I could freeze in time. We ended up getting Micah ready for bed and he didn't even wiggle. He slept all night and hopefully was refreshed in school today!
Micah and I have been working on his letters. He knows about 11 of the uppercase letters by sight but doesn't have a whole lot of interest in the others. Little by little we are getting there! The latest accomplishment is that if you ask Micah how to spell his name he can spell it for you! He has been working really hard at it, so we are so proud of him. Last night we tried something new, just for fun. I have letter flash cards (that we have never used mind you!). I handed them to him and said, "Can you please pick out all the letters in your name and spell your name out on the floor?" He said, "Sure mom!" He was so cute and serious!! 1/2 way through, he got up and started heading to his room. I said, "What are you doing?" He said, "I have to do something, I will be right back!" A light bulb went off and I said, "Stop right there mister. Are you going to cheat?" He looked at me like "BUSTED!" He was actually headed into his room with his flash cards and he was going to look at the block letters on his wall that spell his name! What a stinker! We got back to the task at hand and I did allow him to go and check and see if the card he thought was a C was actually a C. (It was a G on the card) but he quickly realized it wasn't the right one. He struggled with the fact that his wall C had the cursive look to it, so it wasn't an EXACT match to his card. I have tried to prepare myself for this perfectionism (is that a word???) but I don't think I am ever going to get used to it. All in Micah for the first attempt at this, I thought 4 out of 5 letters from memory was excellent!

Not sure what is all going on this weekend. I have a 4 day weekend which is awesome! We are heading to SF tomorrow for appts and we are heading to MN on Saturday evening to see some friends. What else happens in the weekend, your guess is as good as mine!Have a great weekend everyone!! Ta ta for now!
