Fun and Valentine's

Oh how the weather outside is beautiful! It is 48 degrees today and I have to admit, this has done great things for the attitude around our household! Sounds like winter will return this weekend, but we will take each nice day as it is handed to us.

Last week was pretty low key. Tuesday I had volleyball, we won 6 out of 9 - not to shabby. Wednesday night I played cards with the ladies. It was a smaller group, but it was enjoyable. Friday night we had our Revelation study. It was our turn to make supper for everyone and I decided to do a taco bar. It worked out really well I think. The nacho cheese (Velveeta melted) was not a huge success, I gotta do something different next time but otherwise everything was fine. I also made one huge cookie! I took my large pizza stone and spread an entire batch of chocolate chip cookie dough on it and threw it in the oven to bake. I have never done that before and the only reason I did it was because I was lazy! :-) It actually turned out really well and all the kiddos thought that big cookie was super cool!

Saturday morning Micah and I had a date to make valentine's for his classmates and his daycare buddies. We had to do 20 or so which is a lot of "Micah" to write for a little boy! He started out doing both the friends name and his name, but that quickly came to a stop. He convinced me to write the friends name and he wrote his name. He did really well with that but we did break it up into two shifts so his little hand could "rest".
Hard at work writing on his valentine's.

That afternoon, the weather was nice so we decided it was a good opportunity to play outside. Craig actually worked outside - but Micah and I decided playing was way more fun!!

This is what Craig did! He scooped off the entire roof! Ughh..
At first Micah was out by himself digging in his fort.. If you can't see it, he has a kitchen spoon in his hand! :-) He thought that was the coolest thing ever.. After I finished up inside, I joined him and we made a snowman! It was a good time and he really got into it. He was a good helper in rolling the snowballs around and even helped me build a ramp so we could get the 2nd one on since it was to heavy for us to lift it! He wanted to make dad come help, but I was pretty sure he wasn't climbing down off the roof for us!! We got creative and created a ramp and it worked!

Here is Micah with Frosty..
You can't see it in this picture so much, but he has CRAZY hair because we couldn't find a hat..

Of course Micah had to take my picture with him too!Frosty.... Who only lasted about a day or so before he lost his eyes, mouth and buttons. The next couple of days he lost his head and lost a lot of weight!! He is withering away to nothing right before our eyes! One the snowman was complete, Micah wanted to play in his fort. He convinced his dad to fire up the snow blower and blow out part of it so he could have a HOUSE.. Craig opened up the other end of his tunnel so it would go all the way through. Micah was pretty excited about it!!

Here is Micah standing in his fort. He said this is where his secret passage was! Crawling through is "bedroom/kitchen"

Out the other side..
It was a great day!! We all were refreshed and just breathing a little easier after spending some time in the great outdoors! Micah was a little disappointed yesterday. When we came home his fort had collapsed due to the melting snow. This disappointment was right after he expressed his excitement for seeing the GRASS! Yes, he was so excited that he could see the grass in part of our yard! Lucky for me, I was able to curb his disappointment by pointing out that the snow had to all melt in order for him to be able to ride his bike and drive his gator. He was quickly over the fort collapsing!! His next comment was "And go 4 wheeling!" ummm, yes buddy, and go 4 wheeling.
Sunday we went to church and then hung out. We had a nice relaxing day. We went out for supper at Pizza Ranch that night for Valentine's Day since Craig wouldn't be home Monday night. We also had the chance to Skype with Grandma Jenny which was nice. We haven't done that for quite some time!
Monday was Valentine's Day! Micah was super excited that evening when he got a present!! He loved his card too, but as you can see he was pretty happy about his new toy..
It is a nerf dart board. He is addicted to the show "Top Shot". I don't know if any of you have seen it but he loves watching it. I got him this set thinking it would be a hit for him and he has been practicing every day! He did get a little upset though, there were no ear plugs with it! He said, "Mom, I have to have ear plug to protect my ears from the noise!" That is what we told him when he asked why they had ear plugs on. Thankfully Craig had a pair in the garage just for him and he doesn't shoot that gun without his ear protection and safety glasses on! :o) It pretty dang cute if you ask me. He has always been all about the details of life!
Here he is firing away (no ear plugs yet)
Later that evening Micah helped me finish making valentines cookies for his preschool and daycare. He is turning out to be quite the little sprinkler! He did say one thing that I thought was pretty funny. When he came in and saw that I was frosting them pink, he said, "Mom, Hearts are red!" I said, "well Micah, these hearts are going to be pink because I can't do red with the supplies I have". He gave me a pouty face and said, "But mom, my classmates will be so disappointed if they are pink!" I shook my head and assured him I didn't think they would care once they tasted them. What a turkey!
Tuesday Micah had is Valentine's day party at school. He was pretty pumped about that. He brought home a pile of goodies and of course had to taste a good portion of it!
Wednesday he had a valentines party at daycare. Ufta, more candy made its way to our house! Fortunately, we work well as a family. What Micah doesn't like either Craig or I do and what Micah likes, we don't care for! Works out pretty slick!
Well, that is about all for this post. This week is a three day weekend for Micah and I! Micah is def. looking forward to a mommy and me day!! The weather is supposed to be kind of crummy but that is ok, we will enjoy the day doing something inside if we have too!
Well, you all take care!! Ta ta for now..
