Family and Artist

This first picture is something to brighten your day! We went to do our final tuck in of Micah and this is how he was sleeping! I couldn't stop laughing! I love his silliness!

Tuesday the 22nd, I was feeling a little under the weather. I was running a little fever and my throat was a little sore, but toughed it out because I had volleyball that night and it was tourney time! Ya know the story, if you are to sick to go to work (or school back in the day) you don't go anywhere at night so I worked! ;) Thanks Michelle and Kurt for teaching me the value of work and play! I played that night and we did pretty well, we made it through the first night so that was what I call a successful night! The next morning I was feeling worse though so I decided to stay home. I was running a fever in the area of 102 and I could hardly swallow. I didn't have any gitty up and go, so I slept off and on most of the day. That night we had planned on meeting Kelsey, Adam and Lena in SF for supper but since I didn't work and I was feeling awful, I decided to stay home. Micah and Craig went down without me and met up with them. Before Micah left, I had asked him if he would be in charge of the camera and make sure some pictures were taken! He proudly proclaimed, "Yep mom, I can take pictures!" So here is what he got for me. He did manage to take a few others that I am not posting, such as a picture of their feet, the ground by itself, his light saber sitting on the table and a few I couldn't make out! Thank goodness we have digital and not film these days!! ha! "My Kelsey" and Adam!

Grandma Lena! Daddy!

I ended up staying home one more day as I still was running a slight fever and had a terrible sore throat. I was feeling much better by Friday so back to work I went!

Friday night I had ran some pizza over to the cousin's house when I received a phone call from Micah! He was super excited and exclaimed he had gotten 6 strikes in his Wii bowling game and a NEW RECORD! I had to get home so I could see it! He indeed had a new high score and he was really proud of himself!
On the 29th I had my graduation from the Leadership Madison program. It was an awesome experience and I am so glad I asked to be apart of it. I learned so much about the community that I didn't know and meet some wonderful people. Our small group was a success in helping the Domestic Violence Network and that was an awesome feeling! I noted a while back that we had recorded public service announcements and I wanted to share the announcement I recorded.

She should have left him sooner, we know that now.

He was violent, she was afraid, she never really felt safe from him.

When she tried to stand up and leave him on her own, he pulled the trigger killing her instantly. My mother didn't have to fear my father any longer but at the age of 11, I became an orphan because of domestic violence.

Are you on this road, are you afraid of someone you love, do you feel isolated from your friends and family? I want you to know that the domestic violence network is here to help. Call 427-SAFE today, be a survivor, I am!

This picture is of Micah and his Lego Ship. He has been working on this ship for a very long time and he keeps adding more and more to it! He is so proud of it and so very careful not to break it!

On April 2nd we had the opportunity to take Briana and Chase with us to a movie in Sioux Falls. We wanted to see the movie HOP and we thought there was no better way to do that than with friends! They were all so good and enjoyed it so much! There is something about going to a movie at a big theater that makes it more fun! After the movie we grabbed a bite to eat and headed home. They were going to spend the night with us so that was exciting in itself! Sunday we got up and went to church and Marsha grabbed them there. Of course, the kids thought that wasn't long enough "play time" so they came back after dinner and they played a while and then we watched the movie "Tangled". That was a really cute movie!

Here are the kiddos at the movie!
Micah has been painting and coloring more and more these days.
In this picture you can see that he is holding the paint plate.

Here is our dialog about it:

Micah: Mom do you know why I am holding it like this?

Me: No, why

Micah: Because mom, I'm an artist and this is how artists do it!

Ok then I thought, just please be careful Mr. Artist - don't drop the paint on the floor! :)

Your announcement brought tears to my eyes. I think that's an amazing thing to do and it couldn't have been easy!
