Lexy and Cars 2

On July 3rd Micah and I headed to Sioux Falls to spend the day with my BFF from high school, Val and her daughter Lexy. Lexy was playing in the Ringneck softball tourney so we thought it was a great opportunity to spend some time with them. Val's mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and she is not doing well. I felt it was important for us to go support Lexy for a day as I know that Grandma and Grandpa have been huge supporters of her and her activities. It is not remotely the same as Grandma but we thought we could try to make a bad situation a little brighter. Micah loves Lexy and she is pretty fond of him too so it is fun to see them together! We started our day by meeting them at the ball field for her first game. She played really well and they won! After that we headed to Pizza Hut for dinner and cooled off a little bit. While we were there Lexy gave Micah an early birthday present as she will be in KS for Nationals for his birthday. It was a Gecko (it has magnets on the feet so it sticks on things) and some snaps. He was thrilled and has since named the Gecko, Sparky and he is his new sleeping buddy.

After they were done eating they headed outside and had snap wars while Val and I visited. It was really nice to have a little time to catch up with her. Dinner was over and then it was time to head back to the diamonds for Lexy's 2nd game of the day. They won again and she once again didn't disappoint by having a great game! She is quite the little athlete so it will be fun to watch her grow up!

Lexy getting ready to slug it! She got a nice hit off this pitch!
This is what Micah did during the beginning of the 2nd game. He couldn't take it any longer and sleep over took his will to watch! He only slept for about a 1/2 hr or so, but he felt much better afterwards!

Then came playing a little Nintendo DS. That is him under his blanket because the sun was so bright he couldn't see the screen! That's one way to make do with what you have! After their last game, they had a team meeting. Lexy told Micah he could come and he thought that was pretty cool! By the end of the day he had lots of girls thinking he was a little cutie and he had to give them all hugs before we left! It was really fun to watch! Val and I decided that Lexy and Micah would be good big sister and little brother!

This is how they walked every time we went somewhere. It was enough to melt my heart!

After the game we went to Culvers for some ice cream as none of us were very hungry! This is what ice cream with sprinkles and blue Popsicle look like!

After Culvers we headed to the movie Cars 2 in 3D. Lexy had requested a date with Micah a very long time ago when she first heard this movie was coming out. When she first met Micah he was really into McQueen and she remembered that! It was a really good movie and we all had a great time!

After the movie it was game on with more snap wars!

The kiddos in their 3D glasses!

Lexy has her state softball tourney this weekend and her National tourney in KS this coming week. Grandma isn't doing very well so we pray for her to be spared of pain and suffering and that she be accepted into God's kingdom swiftly. Val is thankful that they have a busy schedule but is under a lot of stress with everything that is happening. Please say and extra prayer for their entire family during this very difficult time.
