Student of the Week & Easter Fun

On Wednesday, April 4th I was able to visit Micah's preschool class.  He was student of the week and that means I got to go and read to his class. It was the last time for me doing this, so I asked to take a picture with the class.  What great kids he has been able to be around.  They have had so much fun together and it is a bit sad to see this stage slowly coming to a close.  Hopefully he will end up with at least one of his classmates in his kindergarten class, but who knows how that will all pan out.
I was also able to get a picture of the entire class with Mrs. Poncelet and Mrs. Schroeder.  What wonderful and outstanding teachers they are.  Micah loves going to school and learning is so much fun for him, he will miss you guys next year.
Micah has been playing with his Legos a lot lately. He really has built some pretty impressive things by following the instruction books he has received. He definitely has his dads attention to detail  It is pretty fun to watch. Here is one of the cars he recently built.

Micah started spring soccer began on Wednesday evening. It was a little "eventful" leading up to this, but I think it will all be ok once Micah gets going.  We had requested that Micah and Chase be on the same soccer team.  It would have made things a great deal easier for both Marsha and I in the event that schedules would have conflicted. I also requested because last season, Micah didn't end up with any of his "friends' on his team and he was very upset, so I thought we would try and get Chase and him on the same team.  It didn't work out that way as our request wasn't honored for various reasons, but the biggest being that they had a 40 kid increase in the number of players, so they needed to divide everyone out evenly.  Micah's team from fall was going to remain the same and I think that will work out fine, however they only have 4 kids and that means they are going to get a lot of playing time. With 8 teams instead of 3, the good thing is they will only have one game on Saturday vs two so 1 less player shouldn't be cause a problem.  I think we only have one conflict as far as dates and of course that is the last day, we are supposed to be camping at Newton Hills that weekend, so we will have to see how we can get that all worked out.  We had another scare with our team.  His coaches last season were two college kids, Ally and Devon. Micah absolutely loves them both and in his mind, soccer isn't soccer without them as his coaches.  The combination of no Chase and then he was told that Devon was going to have to coach another team because they didn't have enough coaches, put Micah over the edge.  He had a major meltdown! This is what he looked like after I told him. He was really upset and all he kept saying is how he didn't want to play anymore.
Thankfully, Devon was able to get it all squared away and he found someone else to coach the other team so he could stay with team maroon! That made Micah's work a much better place. Oh how i dread all this sports stuff. Breaks my heart to see his little heart stomped on over and over.  I know it is just the first of MANY but as a mom, it is hard to witness.

After soccer practice we had a Skype date with Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Mike. It is always nice to get to visit with them. Micah always has lots of things to show them and tell them.
Craig and Micah Skyping!
Today, Good Friday, I had the day off so Micah and I had a mommy and me day. First thing this morning we made our Bunny Cake! It was a lot of fun and I love to build these memories with him.
Of course, I think he only likes to make the cake so he can have the left over frosting! :)
We did a few errands for the Easter Experience tomorrow and then we came home and colored Easter Eggs. I have stickers and stuff to make "monster" eggs, but we haven't gotten that far yet.  Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday we will have time for those little creations.

Micah got a package from Grandma Michelle and Grandpa Kurt with a Easter gift inside! He of course loved the Reese's Pieces and he got a kick out of the fact that they looked like a carrot!
We had an appointment to meet at the football field to hurdles organized for egg hung.  It went well and I think we are as ready as we are going to be.  This is going to test us as this is completely different from how we did it last year.  We are praying for no rain! That will force us to have 35,000 Easter Eggs inside and I really don't know how we can pull that off, but God is in control and it will be what it will be. After our meeting, we went out to eat at Pizza Ranch, Micah's favorite.
After supper we came home and Micah wanted to ride his hot wheel and race!
My little racer

 My picture with the champion!
Then we had to play a little catch me if you can with the camera. We haven't done this in a while but we always have so much fun.  This picture cracks me up.  I scared him as he came running around the corner and he screamed at the top of his lungs. It was hilarious.
My mean racer. He told me this was his "I mean business" face!

I wish you all a very Happy Easter! Until next time......
