Micah found a new pillow!! This is how we spent a lot of our time shortly after we returned from our trip. Micah and Baxter were very cuddly and didn't stray to far from our laps. It was a exactly how we wanted to spend our time!Paislee Mette was born on Friday, March 2nd so on Saturday we ran up and visited them in the hospital. Micah of course was goo goo for her! He has a heart like his daddy when it comes to babies!
On March 4th, we had a presentation at church about our trip to Guatemala. I tried to bribe Craig into getting up there and speaking, but he told me there wasn't enough money in the world! No, he didn't but I am positive that is what he was thinking. There were a few of us that got up and spoke, it was a nice presentation and it was good to be a part of it. When we got home Micah wanted to do some painting. His thing is he has to take his shirt off to be an artist. He is working on a wood model car that he had to paint the individual pieces and then put it together.
On March 10th, we went to Sioux Falls for Izzac's 3rd birthday party. They had it at the Ramada Hotel so the kids could all go swimming. Craig had code class so he was unable to go, but Micah and I headed down anyway. We had to go early as I needed to get blood drawn prior to my thyroid check up on the 19th. We managed to get some shopping done as well before heading to the party.

And ........Jaxon waiting for cake!!
The kids ended up having a great time and I am guessing we will be going back to the Ramada sometime soon. They kids even went down the big slide and loved it! The nice thing about there is you can go with them so they were all a lot more comfortable. We had a great time! The weather had been fantastic! Sunday the 18th, we ended walking to the park. I guess I walked, Micah rode his bike, but none the less, we took full advantage of the beautiful weather. Micah loves going to the park. He ended up getting a bit feisty on the way home, he wanted to race! Remember, I walked and he rode his bike! Of course I just had to accept his challenge and word to the wise, he does not fight fair! He will cut right in front of you and give you on choice but to stop in order for him to stay in the lead. So, I say, he cheated! :)
Friday, March 23 & Saturday, March 24th, I went to a True Identities Women's Conference in Brookings, SD. I went with my friend, Susan and had a wonderful time. It was nice to get away and have the chance to decompress in a sense.
Monday night Micah, Craig and Ryan took off to Lincoln. Craig and Ryan were going to to pay their respects to Mr. Brooks, their high school basketball coach and mentor. Micah was free to tag along and he had the opportunity to spend the day with Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Harlan! He was so excited to be able to go because it has been a while since we have seen them. Craig said the service was nice and they had the opportunity to see a lot of people they haven't seen in many many years. He chuckled when he talked about how everyone said Ryan hasn't changed a bit, but nobody recognized him at all. I laughed and said, "Dear, do you remember what your high school pictures look like?" He laughed and said, "Good point." Ha Ha.
I stayed back and played pool for Craig Monday night. I haven't shot for a very long time and wasn't sure how it would go. I ended up getting a 26 out of 30 so my score was pretty good. The games however were pretty ugly for the most part. Nobody shot very well and there were a lot of easy shots missed but all in all Craig's team ended up with 3 out of the 4 rounds. I slept in our house by myself for the first time in many many years. It was very strange and I didn't sleep that well but all in all it was good.
I had volleyball Tuesday night. It was our last night of the A league women's tourney. We had a great season and finished in first place in the league going into the tourney. We ended up wining the tourney as well. It was fun, a lot of fun. I haven't had that much fun playing a sport in a long time. Makes me miss the competition and the days of all the sports. I actually had a dream that I started playing softball again. Ha, that is pretty funny, that isn't going to happen but it was fun to dream about it.
Last night, I went to Mitchell with Lena. We attended the memorial service for Iszabella Morgan, the daughter of Ryan Anderson (Patty (Kilbride) Anderson's son. Bella was 9 years old and was killed when a drunk driver ran into the vehicle she was riding in. She did not have her seat belt on and was ejected from the vehicle. This was a Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM and the gentleman had a .208 blood alcohol level (.08 is the legal limit in SD). Broke my heart to see them hurting so badly, craving another hug from their child that will never be. I pray they are able to keep the faith and continue to move forward, one step at at time. It is going to be a long, difficult process. It was nice to see Ryan, despite the situation, I haven't seen him in many years. They lived in Madison when I first moved here to go to college so I saw them from time to time. It makes me think about how we don't make the effort we should to remain connected with friends and family and I hope to do better than I have been. Please keep Ryan and Jeanie (Bella's mom) and all the other family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
