Day 3:
I am thankful for my relationship with Craig. I appreciate the fact that we make decisions together and do not railroad each other. I love that with a simple look we understand each other without words being said. I love that I can say in our entire 15 years of marriage we have spent less than a dozen nights apart because that is important to both of us. I am honored to call him my husband and best friend.
When Craig and I met, it was God's perfect timing. You see, we both agree that if we had met any earlier we would not have been drawn to each other because we were in such different places in our lives. Lucky for me (us) we met at exactly the time when changes were brewing and we were a perfect fit. I say lucky because I believe we both had to listen to God's nudge when we were literally thrown together by our friends, Ken and Nikki. I am so glad that we listened and proceeded to move forward together with us later being married and having a son. With God's blessings we just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary.
We made the decision early on that if we were going to be married we were going to do it together 100%. We both make our relationship a priority and value the other persons opinion when it comes to decisions. We try to make decisions together vs apart. I think of the phrase, "It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission". That does not apply to our marriage. We make decision together so there is no forgiveness or permission required. Common courtesy and respect between us is one of our most valued assets.
As Bob said, Mushy - but it is what it is. I love my husband with all of my being and I am not afraid to say it or show it by a simple look, hand holding or a kiss. He is my knight in shining armor.
