Day 3:
I am thankful for our church
Today being Sunday made me think, what does today mean to me? It means dragging my butt out of bed when I really want to sleep in was my first thought! My second thought was, it means I have the privileged to walk into a church and feel loved. It means I get to listen to an awesome worship team sing songs that are inspirational and meaningful. I know they are extremely dedicated to the worship team and they spend countless hours practicing and planning and ask nothing in return. For that I am thankful. It also means I get to listen to Pastor Tim speak to us with passion in his voice and eyes. He is the real deal and I treasure the relationship we have built with him professionally and personally. I love that Micah gets to go to Sunday School while we are in service. He gets such joy from spending time with his friends and learning about God and his love for us. He loves his bible and is proud to carry that into church every Sunday. That makes my heart full.
I get to help with countless outreaches and events and bless people in the community as well as around the world. I believe in the mission of our church and that our goal is to extend our hand to everyone no matter their religion, status or situation. We are people of God and we know that this path of outreach isn't always easy but we must trudge past the devil's road blocks and continue on the path. I love that our church stands behind that mission.
I love that no matter how many times I find myself emailing or calling about details for various things, nobody gets mad or irritated with me (at least they keep it to themselves very well!). I love that the church allows me some flexibility to do what I do and not micromanage it per say. I love working as a team with other individuals of different personalities even if it is difficult.
I am thankful we have found a church home for our family. We had been searching for many years and are so thankful to have found Living Hope, what a beautiful blessing.
