Day 6: I am thankful for my son, Micah.

Micah Ryan Nelson, my son, you are a special boy and I am so very thankful to be your mom.  It is the highlight of my day when I get my hug and kiss in the morning before I head off to work. It makes me smile when I think about picking you up after work just so I can see how your day was!  I love that you are ticklish EVERYWHERE and oh your laugh, how it makes my heart melt. You are bright, loving, soft hearted and loyal all at the age of 6.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for you, even though I try to convince you to stop growing up so fast!

The caring heart you have for others and the desire to make the right choices is amazing to witness.  I appreciate that you are not always perfect and you make mistakes, but my hope is that you will learn quickly from your mistakes.  Life is not always easy and as you move through life, you will sadly experience this.  Your love for God is a precious thing and your eagerness to learn all about him and his word is amazing. At the age of 6, it warms my heart to see you walk into church with bible in hand and the fact that after church you have a new message to share with us is a view into your heart (and of the children's program of course!).

That we can do impromptu dance parties in the middle of the store, that you still love to hold my hand while we walk down the street, that you have a baby brother named Luke (that is a doll) but you care for him as a baby should be, that you loved Baxter with all your heart and you miss him dearly and that you still sneak into our bed at night because you say you get lonely makes me smile and cry at the same time.  You are my precious gift from God and I am forever thankful!
