4 wheeling, Fishing...

On Friday the 12th of June, Micah and I met our friends, Marsha, Briana and Chase at McDonald's for supper. The kids go to the same daycare as well, so they always enjoy playing with each other. Whenever we are gone for a day or more from daycare, Micah is always saying he misses "his Chase!" It is cute as pie.

Sunday June 14th, Micah was able to go fishing with our friends, Bill, Monica and their daughter Lizzie. I was getting groceries w/ Dana in the AM and Craig wanted to work on the house so they offered to take Micah with them on the boat. Monica picked him up at 9:00 AM and off they went!! They even decided to go to Lake Thompson in hopes that he would have better luck of catching his first fish! He returned at 4:00PM smiling from ear to ear!! He was so happy and excited!! I asked him if he had fun and he beamed, "YES!" Then I asked the dreaded question, "Did you catch a fish?" He said, "YES!", then I looked at Monica and she shook her head no.. She said they didn't catch anything all day. Haa.. 100% Micah could have cared less. He had a ball without catching any fish!! Thank you guys for taking him with you and giving him that experience!!

This weekend was our trip to Verdigre, NE!!! We met up with Jason, Amanda and Megan. Jason and Craig met each other since 2nd grade and have remained friends since. Jason was the only other groomsman in our wedding other than his brother, Ryan. It is the strangest thing, they don't talk very often. They don't see each other very often either but when they get together, it is as if they see each other every single day!! It doesn't feel like any time has passed and they have an uncanny ability to pick up where they left off however many years ago. It is really neat to witness.

On to the weekend.. We met Friday night in Verdigre (a little later than planned, but all that wasn't a problem). Then we followed them to their "farm" since we didn't have any idea where it was! As we were heading out there, we turned down a road that had "road closed" signs on it but of course didn't heed the warning! haa.. Anyway, we were driving along and all of a sudden Jason and fam + the trailer with 3 4 wheelers on it were going really slow and then stopped! We hung back, rolled down our windows and all we could hear was spinning! OH GREAT we thought, he is stuck in the mud..Being the skilled driver he is, Jason was able to maneuver out of it and then it was our turn. Craig put it in 4 and away we went! It was actually kind of fun! We made it safe and sound to the farm thankfully! We unloaded our vehicles and tried to unwind a little. It was 3AM before any of us went to sleep! The kids managed to get a to bed a little earlier but not to much..

Saturday AM we woke up around 8:30 AM. Everyone ate breakfast and hung out for awhile. After that it was decide it was time to jump on the 4 wheelers and head out on the trails. Since they had 3 - 4 wheeler we had to split up. Jason was the most experienced and knew the trails better than anyone else so he took Micah and Megan with him. Micah was IN LOVE with that 4 wheeler and Jason! I am pretty sure Jason was his hero after those few hours! :) Amanda drove her own and I rode with Craig. First of all, I have to say, riding on the back of one of those things is no cake walk. It took Craig and I a while to figure out the best way to handle the steep hills as well as the sharp declines. We finally got a handle on it and had a blast!!

We broke for dinner and then Micah crashed!! He slept for a couple of hours and he needed it!! Meanwhile, Craig, Jason and Megan went riding a little more and just hung out while Amanda and I hung back at the house.. When they got back, Amanda, Megan and I took them out for a while (nothing to serious as I am a rookie driver!!). It was fun none the less.. Micah finally woke up and we decided to go fishing!! Micah loves fishing and don't ask me why! Neither Craig or I fish and have never done so. But he loves it so we were off to the pond to ride on the paddle boat.

The men.....

This is Sunday AM, they decided to go riding again.. They did manage to bury themselves in the mud a few times! Once so bad they had to use the wench to get themselves out!! I guess that is why you have a wench right! haa...

After their ride, we ate dinner and packed up. It was time to head out..We left the farm about 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.. Oh we had a good time and we look forward to getting together with them again sometime soon.. It was a nice relaxing weekend away from the daily grind.

Last night (Monday) was spent catching up around the house. (I admit, I took a nap too!) Ughh, I was so tired, I just couldn't keep my eyes open! I feel 100% better today!!

Tonight we are heading to Sioux Falls to see our friends that live in Hawaii. They are back and we want to get together with them for supper.. I of course will have pictures!! Mainly because they have a new addition and his name is Benjamin Eli Seeley Jr. (Nicknamed Tripp).

We should be slowing down a little. We need to bust our humps and get this house done!!

I had to share this picture as well. We found Micah some rain boots and he HAD to put them on with his shorts!! Look at that sexy thing!! Haa.. Haa..
