TIME TO RISE, TIME TO SHINE, HURRY UP IT'S MORNING TIME!
We were up and out of the house by 4:30AM. Jenny was nice enough to peal herself out of bed to drive us to the airport! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! I had pre checked in the day before so we checked our luggage at the curb and the man handed us our boarding passes right there! So we were able to bypass the counter! WHOO HOOO! Then it was off to security. We walked for what seemed like days and finally, there it was, with a line to the moon! Lucky of us, a security guy informed us that we could go to the left because that was the "Family" line! JACKPOT!! We were the first ones through and Micah only cried a little bit this time!! He still didn't like the fact that we had to take our shoes off. Not sure what that was all about, but he was over it quickly thank goodness! So then we went and waited at our gate for a little while. Craig walked down to the Burger King and got breakfast for us. That was much needed!! Before we knew it we were back on the plane.. After getting settled in for the 2 1/2 hr flight we were all out like a light! We, along with the rest of the passengers, slept the majority of the flight. Micah actually slept for 2 hours! He woke up just as the captain was turning on the buckle our seat belt sign for the descent. He promptly told me he wanted to get on my lap and look out the window! I explained that he couldn't because they had the seat belt sign on and we had to be safe! He wasn't having it, he said in his sweetest little voice, "Mom, I neeeeed to sit in your lap for just a little bit!" How on earth do you say no?? So, I gave in and explained it could only be for a little bit. He was satisfied after a few minutes and we were good for the remaining few minutes of the flight. We landed with no problems and exited the plane to go find our luggage. Craig retrieved our car and we began our drive HOME! The first thing we both noticed when we pulled out of the parking lot was the vibrant GREEN grass and trees!! Craig the proclaimed that when he got home he was going to roll around in his grass like a dog!! Haaa.. No he didn't but it was a welcomed filling of the senses to see all the natural colors good ole SD has to offer.
We spent the rest of the day unpacking and getting things back in order. We did manage to sneak in a much needed nap!! We slept to long of course and were up to late trying to get our internal clocks straightened out. The remaining part of the weekend was spent recovering and trying to get back to normal. Sunday I went to SF to get groceries with Dana while Micah and Craig began moving some rocks that we had around our house for landscaping. Fun Fun stuff!!!
We had a wonderful vacation and we are so thankful to Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Mike for everything! Not only did they provide us with a place to stay and much much more, but they welcomed us with open arms and for that I am grateful! Micah was able to develop a bond with them that did not exist prior to this trip and I hope that we will be able to maintain that despite the distance between us! It was glorious time away from the daily grind and I am so so glad that we did it. I honestly can't wait to start planning our next vacation!!!
