We were up bright eyed and bushy tailed! We had plans to leave the house a little before 9 am. Craig and I went and returned our hot rod to the rental company. Can I just say, if you are ever going to rent a car, definately go through priceline! Thanks to all who recommended it!! The ticket from our car company said it would have cost us $376.00 for 7 days!!! I purchased it through priceline for $181.00! Yep, to me that is a no brainer!!
This is our hot rod! It was a 2008 Chevy Impala. It was a good car, suited our purpose well.
After returning the car, Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Mike picked us up and we took off towards the Las Vegas Speedway! We had to be at the Caroll Shelby Mustang factory tour by 10:30 AM. So we are tooling along and WHAM, we are stopped in traffic. I mean STOPPED.

Here is what we had behind us.. And.......................... in front of us
Micah waiting patiently!
Mike saying LOOK!! There's the culprit!
Can you guess
?
?
?
?
?
?
Yep, it was him!!
Mr. President Obama.
Mr. President Obama.
He was at Nillis Air Force Base and the shut down the roads in the area so his motorcade could travel freely! So....................We sat on that bridge for 45min to an hour and missed our tour. Needless to say, we were bummed, but what do you do? When the President of the US of A is in the area, everything haults! We finally got off the bridge and drove to the Shelby Cafe for lunch. It was very good and we enjoyed ourselves greatly!! Micah even asked the waitress for a "Racecar sandwich!" She smiled and chuckled. She said, well, we don't have a racecar sandwich but that is a wonderful idea!! I will have see what we can do about that! He settled for a grilled cheese, but one never knows! The next time you eat there, they might just have a new item on the menu thanks to Mr. Micah!!
If you take notice of the white Mustang on the right! It is a 40th anniversary addition,
GT500 SUPER SNAKE from Wyoming!
Here are a couple of pictures...
The New Drag Stip
We had some adventure as when we tooling around on a 1/4 mile (At least I think it was - don't hold me to that!), Out of no where, Julie hammered on the gas and we went flying around this track in this full size van!! I about peed my pants because Jenny was on the end of her bench seat and was holding on for dear life! She just about flew off the seat and landed in a heap! Mike was continually trying to peak over Julie's shoulder and see how fast she was driving! Micah was sitting there saying, "Go fast mom, Go faster!" But we were laughing so hard - at least Jenny and I were, not sure on Mike, I couldn't see his face. He did comment later that he thought about saying something alone the lines of, "Who knew your life insurance policy needed to be updated before taking a tour!" haa.. Oh my gosh, I wish I would have had a video camera. Just the thought of it cracks me up and I about roll off my chair!! I guess the fact that Craig and I knew we were going to go around the tracks at a faster speed was neglected to be told prior! Our friends Dana and Gary had mentioned that they did that when they took the tour. I will admit, I didn't expect her to give us no warning!!

Full Steam ahead on the Super Speedway!
We then loaded up and went back to Jenny and Mike's. We didn't do much that afternoon if I recall correctly. That evening we ate at a restaurant called the Elephant Bar! It had really cool decor and the food was good too! Micah really didn't eat very well most of the time. I think all the hustle and bustle just threw his appetite off. It was frustrating, but what are you going to do? Nothing!! Here are a few pictures we took at the restaurant!
Jenny, Me, Micah, Craig and Mike
Every day since our trip, Micah has made a comment about being sad or he will say his Blankie is sad. You ask him why and he will say with the saddest eyes, "I miss Grandpa Mike." It is to cute.
Mom, Grandson and Son!
Believe it or not.. The night wasn't over!!! That evening, Craig and I were heading to a show at the Bellagio at 10:30 PM. It was called the Cirque Du Soleil O Show. It was fantastic and if you EVER get the chance to go to Vegas, this is a must see. By far it was the highlight of our trip! You will never see anything like it around this part of the country that is for sure. It was about a hour and 45 minutes long. It is so hard to explain so I am going to give you a link to their website. Here are a few pictures I found on a website as you are not allowed to take pictures in the theater. They don't do it justice but it might help give you an idea..

Like I said, FANTASTIC!! I can rave about it over and over. The way the stage changes from deep water to shallow water to partial water to no water is enough to keep your mind busy. Then you have people who are in the water and POOF, they are gone and They never got out! I mean don't get me wrong as adults we know "how" they get out of there but it is amazing to watch it all go on!! Whew, that is one long post.. Hence why I am behind!! I knew this would take a while..
One more trip day to post.. I will get that done soon!! Ta Ta for know!!
