April is the month of the Military Child so the library had a very special story time on the 5th. Micah had no idea about the special guest that was going to be there. It was a wonderful suprise for all the kids!! Since I forgot my camera, Dana who is in charge of the children's department was nice enough to snap a few pictures!
This is Micah in his "Carpet Class" as he calls it. They all pick a square of carpet when the enter the room and sit on it during story time!
After a brief stint with fear, Anna and Micah approached Buddy from SDPB together - AS A TEAM! That was how we convinced them that they could do it. Everything is possible when we are a team and work together! Honestly, all would have been perfectly fine with these two had Buddy not frightened a little boy when he walked in. This poor little guy was terrified and screamed and cried. That of course put fear into Micah's little mind as well as Anna so it took a little convincing, but they managed to tough through it!
Micah shaking Buddys Hand (AKA Wing!) while Anna looks on.
Finally, A picture with Buddy! Melts my heart that they are holding each others hand. So very cute!!
The rest of the week was spent doing the normal day to day things. I did manage to get my hair cut and colored! That always helps make a person smile! Friday night Micah convinced us that we should ride our bikes to his Cousins house! It is only a couple of blocks so we did and boy did he have fun doing that! He did very well and only crashed and burned one time! :-) He took a corner a little fast and hit the grass. I was standing right there but decided to let it play out. He isn't going to learn much if I hover over him and stop all that stuff from happening right!! He tipped it over and looked at me a little scared afterwards. I shrugged my shoulders and said, "It happens, we all crash and burn!" He said, "Yep, we do!" and he climbed back on his bike and away we went! Ha Ha.. All that bike riding must have worn him out because he fell asleep in the chair that night. I guess all that pedaling is hard work for those little legs!!
Saturday Micah and I headed to A-town once again. We had a bridal shower to attend for Micah's very own Kelsey! Micah will be the ring bearer in June and is looking forward to looking like a cool dude! :)
It was a nice shower and it was nice to visit with family and friends I haven't seen in quite a while! Here are a few pictures..
Micah (with a magnet on his face because he bonked heads with someone!)
Cameryn and Tory a new friend they made at the shower.
Mom's, Bride, Sister and Best Friend
After the shower we were heading over to Lena's for dinner. We had a little time to kill due to them having to load up gifts and visit with people. I wasn't sure what we were going to do but we found the perfect place to pass alittle time!! The park!! Wow, they have really upgraded this park since I lived there. I tried to explain to Micah that I used to play in this park when I was little, but he didn't seem to care much! He was all about playing on the cool stuff!!
Micah holding on!! This Dino is fast!! :-)
Micah swinging away.. To date, this is his favorite way to swing!
Of course he had to take a picture of me too! Ughh..
Climbing to the top of the mountain!
Micah thought this was the best! It was a wood pecker and he was making lots of noise! :)
After the park we went and ate dinner then of course Micah had to play a little Wii with Adam and company! He was in hog heaven and I think he just might have made a few more friends! We ate dinner and then the mint making began! We didn't stay long but I did snap a few photos of the fun!
Bride to be Kelsey adding some color to the mints!
The whole party observing the magic! :-)
I see pink mints!! SJ is working on the blue!
Micah so proudly pointed out that Kelsey was making pink like her shirt and SJ was making blue like her shirt!
Meeting of the minds.. Lena, Kelsey and Grandma Carol!
After this we headed back to Mad town. We stopped on the side of the road to visit with Grandma Michelle as she was walking with Ramsey! This was a big mistake on my part, I rolled down the windows. Guess who took up residence in our vehicle - yup, flies! Micah was screaming, crying and shaking mean while strapped in his car seat! We took off and stopped at the farm so we could extract the pesky little flies but that is easier said than done! I got as many as I could but by standing there with the door open, trying to get them out, more were flying in! Finally I decided we just had to live with it! Micah wasn't very happy about this, but I convinced him if he put his blanket over his head they wouldn't get him! This was after one touched his nose and about sent him into orbit! So, he did that and 1/2 mile later he was snoozing and didn't wake up until we were home. Whew, disaster averted and we survived! We then decided to go out for supper at Pizza Ranch and then it was off to the movie store! Micah decided to rent the new Chipmunks movie staring the Chipettes! He loves those girls and he even was in his room playing his guitar while they were singing. Craig and I watched "the Hangover". It was funny but I really don't like it when people brag up movies over and over. Then your expectations are so high for laughter or whatever they can never be met.
Sunday was another busy day. We had church, then I went on got groceries while Craig and Micah hung out. They had a park date and just enjoyed the day. I really wanted to watch the other movie I rented, but ran out of time. I had rented the Blindside with Sandra Bullock. I started it and already know I am going to love this movie!! I am going to have a me movie day here one of these days!! Sunday night we went to small group and then back home. Sundays seem to be crazy so I am looking forward to a break from that this summer.
Last night we had story time again. We actually convinced Craig to ride his bike with us down there! While we waited for Micah we went to the "How to" section of the library and I must say, I think Craig is in love!! He found books on everything under the sun! He checked out a couple to bring home with him, so now I just have to get him to look at them! :-)
This week we don't have much going on. I am going to get the staining all set up in the garage tonight so
I can stain Micah's closet door and inside window trim. I have all the other trim done so that is a bonus!
The murals in his room are awesome! Angie has such a talent for this stuff! She has been great with Micah too. It seems as if everytime he walks in there he asks her to add something else! Crazy kid doesn't realize she works by the hour! ha.. I did manage to surprise him! We have the toy story characters on the wall and he has known about that. I asked Angie to paint Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc in his closet so they can protect him! He walked in and said with a great amount of expression mind you, "OH MY GOSH, I DON'T BELIEVE IT!" Here are a few pictures of his room so far.. She is not quite done, but it is still really awesome! I wonder if Micah will let us have his room???
