On November 15th, we had our first ever parent teacher conferences for Mr. Micah. He had the opportunity to go to his buddy Chase's house while we went and visited with his teachers. The report was excellent. They talked very highly of him and how he acts. It has been a challenge as a parent because we have no idea how he is truly doing. Other than daycare, this is the only time we have ever not been able to "monitor" or really know how he is doing. It was definitely a great thing to hear he is doing well. He has a few things to work on which is great to have some direction for us. The thing he does well he is very proud of and he can improve in the areas of zipping his coat, his prayers (this is probably because we don't say the traditional prayers at home. Opps), he can handle conflict a little better (no surprise there!) and a few other small things. One thing that did come up is he likes to sit on the teachers lap during celebration. Oh boy, that was a hot topic at home afterwards. I tried to explain that he needed to sit on the floor with the rest of the kids and he was not happy! He said, "I like sitting on their laps!" I am not sure how it is going since then, but hopefully he is working on getting out of that habit. He really liked hearing about what the teachers said and really seemed to grasp that he had a few things to work on. He has been practicing how to zip his coat and so proud of it!
Here is one of the papers that we were given by his teachers! I love this stuff!! He knows what he likes and dislikes that is for sure!

Micah is still doing the smart start soccer. He has one more week and I am afraid we are going to have a disappointed little boy when it is over. He has been having a blast and really getting the drills down! It has been fun to watch the difference in him from last year to this year. What a difference a year makes!!
Last Tuesday, we received a notice from Micah's preschool that he was picked as..........

He was super proud and little did he know that he was in for a treat on Thursday! They ask parents to come in and read a story if possible during their child's week! It is to be a secret and surprise! I didn't tell him, but excellent teacher she is, Mrs. Poncelet told him I was coming after I dropped him off. She knows him to well, because she took the time to explain that he couldn't leave with me after I was done. Whew, what a relief! I am so thankful she did that because we would have had a fight on our hands. :) It went well and I read the story "It's my lucky day!" He loves that story and generally it is the story him and Craig read at night! Those little kids melted my heart when I walked in and they were all sitting on the floor patiently awaiting my arrival. Took my breath away to be honest! It was an awesome opportunity and I hope to be able to do it again sometime.
This is another project I was given from his teacher. It is a TURKEY of course and it is made from his little hand. I love it!!

Other than Micah, Craig and I have been plugging away. It is Craigs birthday today!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and I hope he had a wonderful day! We started it a little rushed this morning, so I didn't get a chance to wish him a happy birthday! :( I called him and then I had Micah call him from daycare as well. That made his day!! Micah and I made him cards and we gave him a coin collecting book. We then went to the Mexican restaurant for supper as that is his favorite!
I will leave you with one last picture. This is Micah being Brett Michaels! Yes, he is obsessed with the 80's rocker! He loves to watch his show (Yes, I know it isn't really age appropriate but we let it slide). He does the rocker hand sign and he loves loves loves his songs! He told me the other day he wanted to be a rocker just like Brett Michaels! I am ok with that as long as he behaves and doesn't do the "dark side" stuff of rocking! I told him I had to be a good christian rocker and he said "OK MOM".
