Friends, Toys, Programs

Last week was once again blasted crazy! It started out Monday (Nov 29th), Craig's pool league night. I had to sub for one of the guys as he hurt his arm. I was a little nervous and excited about playing since it had been quite some time! I expected to stink it up but ended up getting a 26 out of 30, winning 2 and losing 1 game. I was very happy with that score. Craig and Bill did comment afterwards that they would like to see me come back and shoot full time. I am not sure if I am quite ready to give up my Micah night, but someday maybe. We will have to see what the future holds as far as that goes. It is a lot more appealing after playing a week that is for sure!!

Tuesday night I worked out and then Craig went to work on an acquaintances house. When I got home, I baked cookies for a church function on Saturday. I made sugar cutout cookies and thumb print cookies. Yummy!!

Wednesday night was Micah's last night of Smart Start soccer. He was really excited to go but quickly lost interest! I think he was a little bored with the slow pace in which they had them moving along. They had to stand in line and wait a lot to kick into goal etc. I think he will be a faster paced sport kid but maybe when he can actually play a game he will enjoy it more. After soccer we went home and decorated the cookies with frosting and sprinkles. It was a family affair which was nice because it went much faster! Micah didn't last long as he was bored with sprinkles in no time flat and wanted to watch a movie! I called him a party pooper and he said, "No I'm not, I just want to watch a movie!"

Thursday night while I worked out, Craig took Micah to his preschool program practice. Craig said he did wonderful and the reward was stopping to get ice cream at Micah's favorite place, Dairy Queen! After we returned home, we cleaned the house some and prepared for company that was arriving Friday night.

Friday evening my friend from high school, Val and her daughter Lexy came to Madison for the night. Lexy had a basketball tourney on Saturday morning and she played at 8:00 AM. They thought they would save some sleeping hours by staying in town the night before. We met them at Sportsman's for supper, had an awesome steak and then headed back to our house. Micah loves Lexy and I am thinking the feeling is mutual! They had so much fun together!!
Once back to our house Micah and Lexy decided it was time to play some wii! It was hilarious to watch them play Just Dance! We have only tried it one other time and kind of forgot about it. Well, they pulled it out and had a blast!! I of course took a video and pictures, so enjoy!!!

Micah and Lexy bustin a move!

After a lot of laughter and having fun, it was time to hit the hay! Micah insisted that Lexy sleep in his bed so that is what they did! It was so cute to see him light up with excitement!

Here they are getting ready to catch some zzz's!Saturday morning we are up and at it early! Micah and I went to Lexy's game while Craig changed the oil on his truck. She won her first game so played again at 10:00 AM. I had to leave to work a Toy Shop we were having at church. It was the first year for this event and it couldn't have gone better! The idea was to collect new and gently used toys and have a day where people in need could come in and go shopping for Christmas presents for their children free of charge. After they selected their gifts, the presents were wrapped and the families were sent home with gifts and goodies. The beginning process of collecting toys went better than expected and we simply prayed that God would bring the people who needed help to brighten their Christmas morning. Wowzers, that prayer was answered 10 times over, it was amazing to see the response and I personally was very humbled by the fact that we were able to help so many children and parents. I felt so rejuvenated when I left there thinking about how fortunate we are and how much out reach we personally as a family and myself as an individual are able to do. After some discussion with Craig, we both had a greater understanding of our place and where we are headed, with or without more children of our own, we are able to touch the lives of children no matter what happens and that is a very refreshing prayer to have answered. Micah decided instead of spending the day with dad, he wanted to stay with Val and Lexy at the games. He watched her play at 10:00 AM, which they won! I made it to watch her 1:00 championship game. They played great and won!! Micah was so excited that Lexy was a champion! We had some pretty disappointed kids when we had to say our good byes, part of Micah's sadness was of course that Lexy had a Nintendo DS and he didn't want to part with it! What a stinker.. After the games, I went back to the church while Micah took nap at home with dad! The rest of the night we hung out as a family.

Sunday morning we attended church. Micah still looks forward to Sunday school each week. I see it as a little social club for kiddos! He has all his friends in there and it still amazes me how excited he gets to see his friends on Sunday morning. Actually, it is when he sees them anywhere! Hugs are given anywhere we see his bff's! After church we got our weekly donuts and headed home as Grandma Michelle and Grandpa Kurt were headed our way! Micah had a special preschool performance at 2:00 PM they were coming to watch!!

Grandma Michelle, Micah and Grandpa Kurt before his program My handsome little dude! Micah and the 1st and 2nd year preschoolers sang a variety of songs. They were all so cute and did a great job! Micah did well considering he had a long weekend and a nap was calling his name! After they sang, they came and sat with their parents. He really didn't want much to do with that part, but we all survived! I had brought a sucker for him so he ate that and when finished, he showed me just what he thought of sitting and watching the rest of the program when he know Pizza Ranch was going to be our next stop!! Of course after eating pizza, he talked grandpa into playing some games! He was so excited to go racing!! Of course, as soon as the game started, it didn't work.. BOOOOOOOO.

Grandpa and Micah getting ready to play the game that didn't work! Shucks.. We had a great visit with them. After we ate, they headed home and Micah headed to bed, he was exhausted! I tried to watch a movie but fell asleep as well! It had been a long weekend and we needed some down time!

Here is a video of one of the songs from the program..
