Mother's Day - May 8th, 2011

Mother's Day, I am a little partial to this day because I think it rocks! A day just for me to celebrate what it is to be a mom, who ever thought of it was a genius! Micah made my day special by giving me a card he had made while in Sunday school. He did such a fabulous job and I was tickled but... he decided it wasn't quite done and he had to finish it when he got home.
Here he is adding his finishing touch!
The back of my card
Here it is ladies and gents, the inside of my mother's day card with his final touch. He had to include his BFF, Chase in the day. He thought his name just needed to be on the card! I tried to explain that Chase had a mom and that this was my card from him, but he wasn't having it. I decided - who cares, that made his card personalized right! LOL. As I was listening to him spell Chase's name out loud, over and over he proceeded to tell me a story from Sunday school. He said they were writing their names and he told Chase he forgot his E. I asked him what he was talking about and he said, "when we were writing our names mom, Chase wrote C.H.A.S. and I told him forgot his "E" but he wouldn't listen to me and he just left it!" If you could have seen his irritated little face, it was priceless. Therefore, I got Chase on my mother's day card! I do believe he had to make the world right by making sure he had the E on the end! I love my little perfectionist!
Being a mother is the best job in the world! Being Micah's mom gives me purpose and strength to be the best person I can. He is my everything and I am so blessed to call him my son. At church that morning, Pastor Tim stated that he knew there were people in the congregation struggling with many things on this mother's day and he wanted to recognize that our church is a place where those struggles are welcomed as they are a part of us. He then asked anyone who is struggling to please stand and they would present them with a rose. Let me say, I didn't see that one coming and I lost it. I was completely taken off guard and for those of you that know me, I don't do well with that. If I am prepared, I do fine, but those off the cuff things send me for a loop. Admittedly, I struggle with the fact that we won't have any additional children. Some days I get mad, some days I am sad, some days I am fine, it all depends on the day! It is humbling to ones soul to know you can't do a thing about it. I am no different than many who foolishly think they have a say in what happens in their lives. Once in a while we all receive a reality check from God and it just reminds us that he is the Almighty God and only he knows the path in which he has laid out for us. We are to hold on to our faith, keep our heads held high, learn from our experiences and move forward. It isn't always easy and sometimes it down right stinks, but I knew at a very early age that life wasn't going to be easy! Most days I feel like I am sulking and I have no right to sulk. I have Micah and he is (in my opinion) an awesome kid and he makes my heart skip beats every time he gives me a hug, says I love you mom, asks a million questions in a 2 minute period or just simply reaches for my hand when we are walking down the sidewalk. My life is good, really good, and selfishly being upset because I want "more" is just plain wrong.
Just look at this face - he is absolutely enough!

What a cute card and a cute boy! We all are guilty of wanting MORE...no matter what it is. I for one know I have more than so many people and need to thank God every day for what I have. It's just that some days are harder than others to remember this :) I hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer and some nicer weather!!
